Hi All,
I've been doing some reading the last few months and I've decided to search around my area. I'll attach the pictures if i can, but I'm a bit of a noob with the online tech, and I took me a while just to figure out how to post. So i live in the North Eastern US, and I live near some big cow pastures (scottish highland cattle actually) and with some sheep as well. I found a number of species similar to what P. semilanceata looks like so i'm curious. I found these blooms most often near or around cow dung, some sheep as well, but never in the dung. They were growing out of the grass and were whitish to brown/black with white/faded stipe. Some of them were turning greyish to black where they were touching something else/each other. When i picked them, they pretty quickly became much darker, and the gills looked awfully purply to me. When touched the stipe it turned that color and became dark. I tried to print the gills on white paper and it was basically just dark, maybe purple, maybe deep blue but just dark. They were growing on hill slopes or little basins in the grass and often northish facing, and I've picked them in Early/Mid october. There has been some rain recently and we have not had our first frost. Hoping for some help... Thanks.
