Dmt as an "off" switch
    #22379781 - 10/14/15 05:13 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Hi,
So my wife and I both had affairs, mine more recent which precipitated the admission of hers which was 3 years ago, but her lover was a herion addict and  stayed in our house for a number of weeks. She begged me repeatedly to let him stay because I wanted him out,  although I had no conscience awareness of what was going on. Hers had some particularly offensive and upsetting elements to me (although she would certainly say the same about mine) .  I'm frequently kept awake thinking about what happened between them,in my house,  picturing it vivid imagery, etc . This serves absolutely no useful purpose and is purely a negative thimg.
What I long for is an off switch, or to habe that information removed from my brain.
I smoked some changa the other day and it struck me as a very effective method of derailing my train of thought completely without significant side effects.
I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on this concept

AtomMick

Hey brother; well, that's what I'm here for.

Most of my remedies simply have to do with the healing potential within ourselves. . Have been exploring for several years in very peaceful meditation these types of things. .  that is, healing for good, etc,.

and, Tara Brach in general is very wonderful; tho I had a lot of rewarding experiences from learning, studying the best wisdom teachers I could find -- and, indeed found a few wonderful ones. . . as I grew older, was amazed often how I'd found the good ones --

what i developed after a long time of discovery and so forth was -- the practice of sending energy down specific, healing channels,

such as 'i am strong,' 'I am at peace,' 'I am healthy,' 'I am happy,' simply four that i used; writing them in cursive on paper especially, really primarily --

this helps greatly to unify one's energy -  and this aids greatly in any endeavor, but especially mentally.

A significant part of the reason is - there are so many suggestions and formations floating around out there, in the world -- so few of which have to do with our inner selves -- and as i had learned earlier, memes affect us;

This practice strengthens the immune system greatly, to false or weakening memes, as well.

Sending the energy down healing channels strengthens as well, and also helps restore total faith in oneself, which also helps to result in perfect health -- our natural, normal state, which isn't static, although it seems to have an aspect of the unchanging, or eternal.

Perfect health isn't even dependent on anything particular -- we have more of it than most people realize over a whole lifetime.

I know I haven't mentioned anything about drugs yet; but the thing is - we create our brain chemistry. .

Indeed, we create our lives - and that includes every aspect, including, the chemical balance of our brain.

This is sort of the alchemical gold, and it really isn't too difficult - only if one believes it to be.

There's no wisdom in the universe that isn't already within the heart of each human being; and happiness which is healing -- all the healing energy - and all the healing power of the mind / body, that is within.

To overcome something like that - well, am sending the best i have; lower my head for a minute, to meditate and pray. . .

I am at peace and not affected - yet you are my brother and so i care very much; what has worked for me is unique to me, yet also universal..

as emerson once wrote; To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, — that is genius.

so we are each totally unique, yet also each of us share in this universal thing, Life, what have you.

What is healing, strengthening, renewing - that is best -- often i have shared, simply choose renewal.

I wished to mention a bit earlier - along the lines of the practice i mentioned, the other one is focusing on the thought, ' I am healed. '

I sort of remember when i first came across this, throughout my life i have found it is very true; useful.

Breaths in nature, spending time when there are no burdens or distractions, these are often the most rejuvenating;

For me, being out in nature has always been the most healing thing --

One thing that comes to mind, upon a short meditation further, is --

Being at peace -- knowing you are safe.  It's a great blessing to be safe;

As well as, well and healthy

What humans can do - in terms of beauty and healing - we haven't tapped 1% of that yet. . . i don't think.

As in - others' limitations are not necessarily -- indeed not at all - your own, and goals become -- sure, materially too; but i have spent most of my entire life searching for strength, wisdom, peace, and understanding human nature, and reaching the Ideal...

Though am writing this in perfect peace, gladness, and many good thoughts wished to you, i feel I may be running on a little long, so I will wrap it up --

but yes; primarily the first part -- then, any endeavor --- especially ones centered around the inner life, become much easier -- and reaching that state of peace; becomes much easier - very easy and simple.

Am sending my very best, brother, and many, many good wishes. :hug:

I have no recommendations; but I love tea - that can be beautiful and spiritual; depending on how we drink it. . .

The sacred herb ganja is my personal entheogen, i do love dmt too; have only partaken twice. .

Someday, many years from now, -- well, I won't make any predictions, hehe.

All the best dear friend -

Peace and love

:peace:

Hey, man. I never took DMT. I wouldn't guess it would just turn off your mind, though. There are videos of Terence McKenna on youtube (university talks, recordings of workshops) where he talks about DMT and it doesn't seem to do that. According to him DMT trips don't last so very long, while effect of the compound is not to sedate or calm you but to make you see things you then deal with/ponder.
If you think a psychedelic experience may help you cope or find a different way of looking at things, read some accounts of trips and generally inform yourself. It would be good to be careful/sensible about doing a trip and not to sort of stumble into it. Hope this helps.

You need to deal with and process the emotions associated with your betrayals. DMT will not tune you out either, it would probably provide some broader perspectives at the cost of some uncomfortable experiences. C'est la vie.

When my former love did that to me, I chose to fragment my sexuality. I no longer have faith in monogamy and could care less about long term relationships. If you wish to overcome, you need to consciously think about what you want from this relationship and what you guys are going to do to rebuild the trust and ensure this doesn't happen again.

Why do you want to stay with her after all this toxicity?
