ID help please - multiple
    #22379516 - 10/14/15 04:16 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Hi all,

I've just started hunting mushrooms of various types and really appreciate the wealth of information available here.  Thank you all!  While I've read the n00b pages, this is my first post so let me know how to improve.

#1 -----------------------------------

Habitat: Growing in soil in mixed woods (pine and hardwood) in Northeast Atlanta (Gwinnett) GA.  Found a second under a river birch today.
Gills: White pores, firm
Stem: Thick white/brown.  Firm.
Cap: 2.5" diameter, brown, rough, firm, convex
Spore print color: Did not print - maybe old or white print
Bruising: None.
Other information: Light mushroom scent.

#2 ---------------------------

Habitat: Growing in soil under pinestraw along the road in Northeast Atlanta (Gwinnett) GA.  On edge of stand of loblolly pines.
Gills: Gills, to the edge and down the stem.  Light brown, lots of rust color which seems to be spores.  No latex.
Stem: very short, light brown/beige.  Firm but seems to be hollow.
Cap: Wavy, convex in some specimens, 1 - 3" diameter. Yellowish brown with lots of blue/blue-green tint.
Spore print color: Printing now but lots of rust color that I assume is spores (see above)
Bruising: Don't notice actual bruising.  Broke cap and bruised cap with no evident change.
Other information: Smell that I assume is "farinaceous" - reminds me of rising dough.

#3 --------------------------------------------

Habitat: Growing in soil in mixed woods (pine and hardwood) in Northeast Atlanta (Gwinnett) GA.
Gills: Gills, purple.
Stem: Purple, firm.
Cap: 1" diameter, purple, convex
Spore print color: Didn't attempt.
Bruising: None noticed.
Other information: Very little scent.

Thanks again,
Nabob

Is it acceptable to bump your own post after updating with additional pictures/ID requests?

The first one is some sort of bolete, the third is a laccarius species. I'm not sure about the middle one. Could be Ps. Cyans, but id wait for a TI before eating them.

Thanks for your input.  For the second, I'm not seeing any bruising after looking back at the samples I have.  Lots of bluish color on the cap but doesn't seem to change with handling.

Yea, they look like more of a clitocybe species to me now.
