Haha I'm messing with you. Are there any exotic meats coming out of there on the black market? I'm getting bored of the traditional steak.

I'm sure they do have those but its rare they ever treat the animals with respect so idk how the meat will taste or if that effects the lfavor or not.

I saw a deer trip on a fence jumping over and smash its head on a rock, that wasn't too bad.

Imagine the suffering it would have endured if not for man. I have seen lots of videos of lions eating the entrails of still lowing wildebeest. Death in nature is horrid.

The really brutal slaughters were kosher butchers. What bugged me is the shit eating grin the narrator has the whole time they show her.

The really brutal slaughterers are lions, Komodo dragons and bacteria. Tigers are relatively kind. Hyenas are fucking pricks, too, but they seem to be mostly scavengers.

Lol but a lion can't be compassionate to the animals that it eats. It has to be rough. A human can kill an animal swiftly and kickly or they can torture it
I mean an animal died so I can have a delicious rib eye grass fed steak with truffle butter...The least i could do is pay a dollar extra just to make its involuntary contribution a little less gruesome. We don't hunt them. We raise them in cages, and the stastics show that by simply letting them eat in an open field of grass, we actually gain just as much meat from the same land. In addition, it tastes better and is healthier
I really dont see the logic. "Hey I want to ruin my health while harming other creatures and putting them through unessacery pain. Even if reducing this pain benefits the planet, animal AND me at minimal cost, I refuse to do it"

Kukaracha said: This brings up an interesting argument that I often hear. See, I eat meat. If someone comes up to me and asks me why I do, I will discuss it. Same if someone asks me why I don't recycle glass bottles. But it has always blown my mind that people sincerely get offended when someone points out that meat is murder, no more no less. You may be okay with murder, and I am to an extent, but it doesn't change the fact that if the same treatment was applied to a human being it would be considered a horror movie. The bottom line is the following: we arbitrarily treat some animals like things, some others as companions and other humans as creatures worthy of respect. Even though they feel and think, like us. It's not even a matter of hunting, this is industrial killing.
Seriously, why do people get so mad when animal cruelty is brought up? I have NEVER been bothered by a vegetarian in my whole life, yet I can't spend a month on the internet without some random person whining about how meat is life and vegans can kiss his ass. Is that a defense mechanism?
A second weird argument is to say that we need meat. No we don't ! That is, you could argue that we need meat every now and then, say every week, but you don't need it for every meal. Contemporary humans are fatasses, one third of the Americain or British population is overweight. People walk less than 10 minutes a day. And you're telling me that you "need" meat and protein? Come on. You need food.
I eat meat for every meal and guarentee I'm in better shape than most vegans and vegetarians on this board. Don't bother bringing up vegan bodybuilding either because its a joke. The problem isn't meat it's people being lazy. Most of the vegans I see are skinny fat so the fat. Meat is food by the way. Our bodies digest and get nutrients from it.

What the fuck does that have to do with anything? They are brutal. All natural deaths are hideous. Most of their lives are hideous and lived in fear of predation or starvation. Domestic food animals don't have to deal with anxiety and that slow tortuous death.

Because it's not a positive for captivity..
If you were given the choice would you rather live a life roaming free in nature but with natural predators, or a life in a cage doing nothing eternally where there isn't even enough room to turn around.
I don't know anyone who wouldn't prefer numero uno

I never said it was, nor tried to make it out as one. I was just pointing out a fact. My only point is that they've gone from one kind of fucked up existence to another. Constantly having to fear getting eaten, going long periods without food and living in harsh conditions only to eventually likely meet a grisly and painful end is a fucked up existence, is it not?
Me pointing that out had nothing to do with saying "they have a better life now".

I don't know if constantly living in fear of being eaten is really a reality for most animals, real life isn't a nat-geo lions special & they're so in the moment they only worry about things as they come up generally. As far as herd animals like cows that we eat - only the young and infirm are routinely killed, so if they make it to adult hood all they really do is wander about eating It really comes down to, if you've lived in the wild and you've lived in captivity - one makes you feel more alive than anything, and the other makes you feel completely dead.
If they were raised able to roam and socialize all they want then it isn't so bad - it's just the factory farms that are majorly fucked up.

This. And noone really addressed the central arguement here. Its healthier, just as expensive to produce in the short term, and actually is able to be produced in the long run. There isn't a single reason not to end factory farming.
You guys are sort of ignoring my point so I will make it more blatant. IT COSTS THE EXACT SAME. resource wise, and money wise. The main issue is a handful of laws
I am really trying to hear people out, but fucking christ. People need to see the obvious for what it is
