Eggs are a massive source of cholesterol. You could never seriously utilize them as an alternate source of protein without clogging up your arteries.
Combinations of legumes, vegetables and egg's, aka a pain in the ass. You know what a good complete source of protein is? The back left leg of this deer I shot a month ago. Which is about the best death it could wish for.

that may work out great for you rich kids that live in large cities but it's not an option when you live in rural areas
I'm definitely not monetarily rich. I think it's less expensive to be a veg than a meat eater.

People should at least reduce the amount of meat they eat. If everyone ate half as much meat, it would be like half of us were vegetarians.

Dietary cholesterol has nothing to do with cholesterol levels in the blood. Sodium does. Sodium. Dietary cholesterol has actuall been linked to healthy hormone production. But thanks for pointing that out for me because vegetarians do love the cholesterol arguement when in fact its retarded as all fuck.

Yeah man. Idk. Been playing football pretty much my entire life while dabbling in other things ranging from lacrosse to beginners mauy thai from old buddies in highschool who decided "I want to slaughter" and joined the army went special forces. I guarantee I am more muscular and in better athletic shape than any vegan on here. Yet OP refuses to address any points I bring up. Nutrition and physical performance have comprised the majority of my life so far besides work or school. I know wtf I am talking about.

For me not eating meat has nothing to do with health. It is obvious that meat is a bountiful and delicious source of protein and amino acids and it's quite good for your health in moderation and in conjunction with an active lifestyle. I don't eat meat because it is ethically and ecologically nonsensical.

Support the farmers and corporations that do have an ounce of respect and sanity then. You vote with your money.

Eating meat and the lifestyle associated with it is so culturally ingrained in us it is like a religion, a belief that is so *true* to the majority of citizens that they refuse to see, believe, or learn that alternatives exist and for right measure.
It's so easy to give up meat in our modern world with millions of alternatives. I understand people eating it in less developed areas but in places of affluence and information I just don't understand why people won't at least listen or research better options than meat.
I think many of us on here woke up to the bullshit fed to us from our lying political economic machines, to the lies and illusions of culturally defined life.
It is much harder for us to wake up from the deception we feed ourselves...
We're living in a time where we need to consider changing the trajectory of the results of our habits. We are making steps, thank God for the internet and the projection of knowledge, but we must not become blind to self-referral.

Yes i have pigs, sheep and cow. i've also seen chickens/turkeys get their heads cut off. Not to mention the ISIS videos where people get their throat cut and then decapitated...but my grandpa had a farm and sometimes he'd butcher his pigs, cows, chicken, turkeys. It was always done with as much dignity as possible, during the animals life they were free to run around, play etc, factory farming is whats really wrong, not just the eating of animals... and like many have said before me its the circle of life. One day ill die and things will eat me.

I'm sure the animals really respect and are thankful for being treated with dignity while their throats are being slit.
We love to reassure ourselves that what we are doing is 'okay' to justify our lifestyle. Yes, life does feed on life, and life does not discriminate in dealing out pain and suffering, but there are changes we can make as it becomes more apparent that in this modern era we need to make proper changes to ourselves, other earthlings, and to Gaia.

That's some hippie horseshit right there. Meat is where it's at. You don't want to eat it, that's cool. But don't be pushing your agenda on the rest of us. I give no fucks if I can get my protein elsewhere. I eat meat because I like it.

And i'm sure that when it comes our time to die, we will hope its in a dignified, respectful way. Nothing wants to die but all things die.....everything dies baby, thats a fact. Before taking an animals life, asking "God" for permission, a quick end and blessing the animal/praying for it's gift of life and treating the body with respect during butchering is a much better end than most of us will face.
Edit: also i'd cool it with that hippie Gaia crap, there are to many beliefs to be convincing. For example, for all we know our entire universe is a spec in a multiverse, and that multiverse a spec in a spec of another spec, of matter in some other universe/matter that contains....my belief is more than likely "god", i.e. (whatever created this), doesn't give a shit or even know about our existence, let alone what we do to our world.

Gaia is just another name for the Earth. A more 'personalized' name, yes, but just another name. I mean, we are life, and the Earth is full of life, so why not the entire earth be an organism?
Yea, for all we know that could be true. But it doesn't make any of this meaningless, it doesn't mean we should turn our backs to empathy and compassion. Chances are, even if there are multiverses and god doesn't feel us, we are somehow connected to it.
And I do agree that asking for god's blessing and good health is a good thing to do before killing food. But we 'first world' people simply don't need to be doing that unless we absolutely don't have (or feel we have) another choice.

This idea is called Single Species Management approach, and does not work in an ecological sense or philosophical sense. Not all life/organisms need the same things.....

What other choice do we have? Vegetables and starch doesn't provide the necessary fats and protein to upkeep your brain's necessities. We aren't herbivores, we are omnivores.
