first grow...can I get contaminations?

Okay first off I'm new to this website but I've been lurking around here previously. I just have one quick concern to ask you guys. Yesturday I did my inoculation and everything went as planned except for a couple times when I pushed the syringe through the tape I think some of the spore solution got on the dry vermiculite. Should i be worried? And also I'm kinda scared to take the tape off the jars because of possible contams because of the wetness of the top vermiculite. If i could get some feedback that would be great...thanks a bunch!!!

I don't really see why this would be a problem. I haven't worked extensively with that tek, but from my understanding of it and experience in other methods, it doesn't seem like it should be an issue.
Also, the best way to learn this hobby is to make mistakes. Take notes along the way so that on your next grow you can adjust accordingly. Who knows--with some luck one day maybe you'll be answering this question for another "noob."

Definitely take the tape off for gas exchange. As for the spore solution on the dry verm barrier you'll probably just have to wait and see. It probably depends on how wet it actually got.

Cool thanks! The only issue now is that now I see somewhat slight darks spots around my jars. Hopefully that's nothing though :/

Just let them grow for a week or two and then think about starting to worry in another couple weeks.

My advice is to post pics when dealing with a possible contamination. This way someone with more knowledge can give you some advice. Also try and be specific about what you're seeing. It will help get a response quicker.

It's hard to see anything because the picture can't be enlarged.

Take the tape off for GE
-------------------- Considering spores can survive the vacuum of space, I would assume it's safe to say that mushrooms are on every planet waiting for the right conditions to present themselves. What it all boils down to, is aliens are on shrooms.
