Habitat: this mushroom has been found along a 20 by 20 patch of conifers and aspens and at the bases and growing on the wood Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc. Gills are adnexed to adnate, crowded, rusty creamy color, white spores.. the cap is brownish Harry, membraneous fiberlose, with darker as it gets to middle. On older mature specimens. Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc. The stem is darker screen color with black green spots in some stripes and spots at the bottom of the stem an annular ring that is whitish cinnamon color around the upper apex of the stem. Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc. See various pictures below. Spore print color: Very important! white Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any. green at base, Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills. I have identified five species that have looked just like this mushroom.pholiata squirrelarosa, the gympsey mushroom , coetinarius web cap, and gymnopilus rust gills, and maybe other. The spore prints do not match! These are a bright white. Very frustrating indeed. Please help

The default answer in this forum is always Armillaria. We should just have an autoreply bot that says "Armillaria sp.". Sure some people may die, but it would save so much work.
Your gallery has some nice ones, probably A. solidipes.

Thanks! Definitely right. Did a microscopic verification. I take it are not edible then? Tree destroyer! Wow. I've heard of different pholiotas mating, but that's really cool. Read that some want to make these mushrooms typed that breed into biological organisms. Also, good to hear from you Dr. Ghostly. Been awhile!
