Does Bernie Sanders have a chance?

President Barack Obama was not leading polls in October 2007... Does Bernie Sanders have a legitimate different position to that of Hillary Clinton? Does he stand a chance to overshadow her with time?

If her legal problems get worse and the FBI moves forward with a recommendation for an indictment ... he has a very good chance.

Yes, but besides that, if nothing happens, (which is what usually happens to Bushs and Clintons), does he, after yesterday's debate?

If Hillary gets through this email situation with relatively no more big surprises and Biden stays out, Sanders has no chance at all. If Biden jumps in, he'll take a lot of Hillary's support so that might help Sanders. Still a longshot as long as Hillary's in. Let's face it, if Hillary get indicted, then Biden will be in and he will crush Sanders so his chances are minimal.

I don't know, I mean, I see what you are saying and think Biden will indeed be a runner. If Hillary is in the game, though, that is your take. I agree, unfortunately. I just pray that she is indicted, and that Sanders swooshes Clinton's voters, because Biden... Well, what does he stand for, actually?

Blue collar / unions / labor likes Biden a lot and they would organize for him.
Despite how slow the recovery has been under Obama and the problems in the Middle East, a lot of Americans are still in an "anything but a Republican" mode. The GWB-Stink still hangs over the GOP and a lot of people just plain and simple blame the Iraq mess and our economy on bad decisions by GWB.
I think it will be a very close election and Trump has no chance of winning. Rubio/Kasich would probably be a tough ticket to beat. Bush or Trump would lose by a landslide.

That would be my GOP ticket as well (dislike Rubio some, so I'd do the opposite).
Yes, general election will be tough no matter what due to the GOP changing the electoral game (in a way, no matter what we think about it), but the Dems bet way too much on Clinton and way too early (2008).

I didn't even notice her clothes. My eyes were bleeding after seeing her face.

Astral Pain, that clip has been credited as earning Bernie $1.3 million in donations the day after the debate. It's also credited with earning him more twitter followers, more facebook posts, more tweets, and more google searches than any other candidate.
It also showed his integrity. He smelled blood in the water but rather than politics as usual he brought the debate back to the issues. If Hillary gets arrested, great for Bernie's campaign. If she doesn't the GOP has no problem doing the dirty work of smearing her name.
Bernie has moral fiber and character. This is a very rare trait in politics and it resonates with the American people. Rather or not enough people will get motivated to get out and vote in the primaries and rather or not people will buy Hillary's, "The GOP is evil and I have the best shot of beating them. Oh and did I mention the vagina?" rhetoric is another question.
But every liberal I speak to regularly is planning to vote for him in the primaries, even the ones that don't think he has a shot or have never bothered with primaries before.
I think he has a chance.

Did you even read what I posted? He completely disarmed all of them by wiping the email ammo out of the equation. He shot everyone there and himself in the foot. Money and searches wont save his ass from what transpired that evening. You just don't get it.

You can't just go after someone people love. You're not going to win their support like that. And for that I think it was a brilliant move.
It also showed Bernie's leadership abilities. He did what he felt was right instead of what was expected and in doing so he's separated himself from the pack.
The FBI will handle it. Hillary hasn't even been charged. If she does get charged I suspect she'll drop out of the race. If she doesn't get charged Bernie would make himself look like another GOP poo flinging monkey if he had went after her last night.
If that's what I wanted in a candidate I'd vote for Trump.

That's how I feel, if she's not been charged or convicted of wrongdoing (emails and Benghazi) don't talk about it.
If the system is to corrupt to charge her with any crimes when in fact she's really guilty, then that's a reflection of our system.

Astral Pain just wanted everyone to bash Hillary all night while he fondled himself, but the obvious fact is that makes them all look like the republicans, trying to cash in on a cheap scandal.
If they make their attacks, then Hillary gets to say "you guys sound like republicans, can we get back to the issues?" And there's roaring applause.
By making "the line of the night" Bernie got his name out there, which is his biggest hurdle thus far.

-------------------- I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them. I also attack my side if I think they're wrong. People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

Me too. And I agree. No indictment? Dems tend to only lose when putting those issues in the frontline.
I tend to agree with Astral Pain when it comes to this issue. I think he is unfortunately right.
