Lake is a interesting German rock group originally from the 70's, I love their smooth funky prog rock sound.
Here is one of my favorite songs from their first album:
Lake - On the Run
Lake - Chasing Colours
This one is more keys heavy and is from their third album I believe, it also has some killer guitar as well.
Anyone else listen to them? They seem pretty under appreciated sadly, especially for how great they sound.
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

This is one of my new favorites:
Lake: Red Lake
Very powerful lyrics and musicianship, it is actually a tragic song as it is about heroin addiction which took the singers life in the 90's
Still a very beautiful song though, the keys work is magnificent. I guess Carl Wilson from the Beach Boys sings backup for this song too which is cool.

Sounds like something I'd listen to if I was in my mid-late 40s
I don't think it's bad, but there's not enough there for me. My taste is pretty generic though I'll admit.

Care to elaborate at all? Many of their songs are pretty simplistically intricate in that they have simple structures sometimes but fill the space complexly. I think that is why they sound so groovy to me but also nice and intense. They make great use of electric guitar and keys and many of their songs have some pretty great vocals too, I could see how people wouldn't like them depending on their taste. I love groovy jams though which is pretty much all their music
What song/s did you listen to?
I just checked out two of their first 3 singles out which are pretty great. They both use horns too which really adds to the sound.
King of the Rock“n Roll Party
Lake - Sailor
Some great guitar on both of these songs too, I really love their guitarist.
