Space Heater?

Hey I see a lot of fish tank heater setups etc.. But what about a space heater? I have been sitting a space heater on the desk the FC is on and just have it blowing against my air pump. Is this safe for the mycelium?
At night in my room it gets between 50-60 I like it cold when I sleep.

Air pumps are terrible for mycelium. But a space heater could also be an issue if it gets too hot. Generally we recommend to heat the room not the chamber. 60 f is pretty cool but still doable. Just slows down fruiting speed.

Yeah my pins have been in stand still for like 4 days. So i thought maybe it was too cool. My chamber is sorta an experiment.. so far it all works great.. Half the chamber is pieces i saved from contam jars (boy are those fruiting).. Then 2 cakes of cambo, and 6 of Brazil.

Your night temps arent really that bad. You will see slower growth at lower temps, but they tend to turn out hardier and heavier.
Yeah heat the rooms temp. Careful with space heaters and stuff. I have used them many times in rooms that didnt get much heat (I have a big old house). I put lots of smoke alarms around. I've come back to melted cords on cheap units.
Make sure you always plug them directly into the wall. What can happen with plugging them into another cord first if its a thinner wire, you turn the wire into an element and it heats up.

My plan was to heat it during the day while the lights on and i'm at work, and just let it get cool at night maybe. Last night was my first night of it being warm in here and I turned all night. I may just move the whole unit to my laundry room when I get off work tonight. Small room.. Can easily keep it warm. But yeah man i'm sure it easily gets 50 in here at night, that's gotta be way to cool though isn't it.. I hear 60 is pushing it.
