Found some Pluteus americanus in Indiana

I found these earlier today on a hardwood log. I saw from the trail I was walking on that the caps looked pretty blue for a Pluteus and I though "Holy shit! Could it be P. americanus?" and I went in closer and noticed that the stems were blue. They bruised blue after I picked them too. I know these have been found in Indiana before but I'm still pretty psyched about finding them for the first time. I'll check these out under my microscope to make sure they're not P. saupei tomorrow.

Blurry habitat shot:

There was a pretty nice sunset not too long after I found these:

you are having quite the year Splitter. Blueing conocybe, ovoids, blueteus. Very nice finds. What are you going to do for an encore?

Hopefully with some active Gyms or some bluefoots. I hunt primarily in old-growth and second-growth beech-maple/oak-hickory forests and I still haven't found either of them other than the time I might have found P. caerulipes but my specimen went rotten and my hard drive died soon after. Could have just been an ovoid in a weird spot. Either way it doesn't really count.Quote:

Thanks! I'm gonna keep these as herbarium specimens though. It wouldn't really be worth eating these when I have so many ovoids that aren't as important as voucher specimens.

I put these in the fridge to spore print and they bruised even darker after I took them out.

They are definitely a psychoactive Pluteus
