Sorry forgot to mention I found these in eastern Massachusetts, in a mostly hardwood forest with some coniferous trees

Pholiota species. The dark spots on cap + ruffled edges on caps
Gyms are neighbors to those so keep hunting man!

Thanks for the help man. I actually did find some gym leteus the other day, not surprisingly in the same location where I found the gyms the first time. Apparently a new batch had grown and I didn't even recognize them at first because they were much younger and smaller than the original large ones I found. Just curious does anyone eat these ones I found? Not that I want to, I just like to learn about things!
