I know right. These people are so dumb, they really think that ALL smart people think like them, and that's just not true, Ben Carson don't, he's a fucking brain surgeon. So why is hawking and Einstein right, but Carson is wrong?
Answer: because liberals are retarded...

Ad hominem, when you attack the person rather than their position.
I.e. what bbw said. Why is they wrong? Oh right, because you two have made up your mind about something you don't even know the definition of.
Would you quit trolling and read a fucking book already?

See HU and BB. This is an actual argument.
Anyway I haven't read Hawkings position but I tend to agree that automation has replaced a lot of jobs and that this trend will continue. Another reason in my opinion to tax speculation and invest in education.

Actually paper, the OP said Hawkings is a socialist but nowhere in the article does the word Socialist come up.

Oh more taxes? Shocking...
You haven't read Hawkings position yet you command others to read... Is that the same as "Do as I say, not as I do"? That's typical of liberals
Oh and by the way, bill gates and warren buffet both support the rights position...

Also I don't give a shit if Stephen Hawking is a socialist or not, and even if I did, I wouldn't be using his statements on such as an authoritative promotion of socialism.

That's argument from false equivalence. Hawking doesn't seem to be taking a position on socialism but rather is commenting on income inequality produced by machines and advocating for the redistribution of wealth.
Quote:
“redistribution of wealth” or “sharing the wealth,” and is thus a road to socialism. Indeed, “socialism” is often defined by these reactionaries as the redistribution of wealth, which is seen as the ultimate evil because it leads to socialism, which is evil, and it’s evil because it entails the redistribution of wealth – you get the idea.
There are a few notable problems with this. First, socialism is far more than simply the “redistribution of wealth.” Second, redistribution of wealth happens all the time under capitalism, yet strangely the right-wing only complains when some hypothetical redistribution favors the working class as opposed to the capitalists. To understand why socialism does not equate to redistribution of the wealth, we must first ask what distribution means.

Hawkings was stating the obvious. Who cares about his "authority" in this particular case? Read what he said, and post a rebuttal if you have one.

Ben Carson doesn't actually believe that garbage. Nobody can convince me otherwise. He's lying to rally votes from the party of stupid. He saw how far Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin got with their stupid, and followed suit.

^ exactly.
The most disturbing part of Carson's campaign is that he's too smart to be electable, so he has to dumb himself down for votes.
This is the state of the GOP. Even if an intelligent candidate enters, he can't win.

I'm no fan of John McCain by any means, but he gained a ton of respect in my eyes when he was campaigning in 07 and snatched the mic away from the woman who called Obama a Muslim terrorist, and basically told her she was an idiot.
His numbers amongst conservatives dropped as a result.
In the GOP, it's just dumb politics to be smart. And smart politics to be dumb.
