Yup, Amanitas, I swear they are always nibbled by deer! They love them, shamans in Siberia/Scandinavia drink reindeer pee to get their groove on, apparently a good way to dose, if you're down with drinking urine of course. Yummy.
Be very careful if you're thinking about eating those, dosage is VERY hard to predict, do some thorough reading on the best way to go about it if it's something you are interested it. Nice find though, even though they are very common where I live it's always great to see them, such a beautiful fruit.

Also some preperation may be required, those things are toxic.

Thanks a lot. Ive been reading about it. Sounds crazy, scary, intense as shit and amazing all at once. I am not ready to experience this from what I have read though. I am definitely going back to get them and take more pictures. Hopefully they're still there.

Seems like you are kind of far south so they are probably Amanita muscaria var. persicina.

Has anyone had experience with these? If so, did you grind it into powder and drink it, eat them, or another method. I have read quite a wire array of opinions/experiences with this mushroom. I am quite familiar with the psilocybin trip, but this sounds to be more unpredictable to say the least. I always control my situation before consuming anything of the sort. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the input everyone. Yeah it sounds like it could be horrible and it would require a sitter of sorts for sure. Doesn't seem like my type of thing. Maybe one day. So these are quite common?

Depending on your area/local habitat, yes they can be very common. I found literally hundreds within a couple hundred yards last year, I think I posted pics, can't recall, definitely took lots of photographs, they are one of my favourite natural things to capture on film/SD card.
I have been present on a number of occasions when people ate them, almost always a fairly positive, enjoyable experience from what I have witnessed. That is purely a objective view as I have never had the urge to consume them myself, so I couldn't give a reliable comparison to psilocybe species.
As I said before, dosage seems to be the most tricky thing to get right, which is what made me reluctant to take them. When I was a teenager I saw many of my friends take Amanitas and never saw a bad experience occur, this is going back 15-20 years though and my memory could be somewhat lacking, also I am fairly sure they were consumed with various other chems, certainly pot and alcohol, quite possibly molly/X.
They were always oven prepped when taken by my friends, gently dried with an open oven door to convert the muscimol/muscarine. As everyone has said, be careful and don't expect a cubensis trip, you may enjoy them, you may not. There wouldn't be such an established shamanic history if they didn't have some redeeming qualities I suppose.
Start small and work your way up, same as any compound you are unfamiliar with.

this part of your post reminded me of something i was thinking about the other day as i was very, very carefully weighing out individual portions of an active, down to the tenths of a gram, while taking into consideration the tolerance and experience levels of the people for whom i was preparing doses...and i thought about all those times during our late teens to mid-20's when we'd all just grab handfuls of cubes from a freezer bag and chow down mid way through a night of drinking and smoking and partying...all without giving the first fuck about the amount consumed, the set, setting, the individual's 'goals' for that experience, or other chems already ingested that night.
bulletproof was the mindset, for sure. and the worst experience was some purging, but other than that it was always all good...no matter how irresponsible and thoughtless it was at the time.
