Growing enoki in refrigerator
    #22351948 - 10/08/15 08:49 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Is this possible or am I crazy?

I have some oven bags, quart and half pint jars, etc..

What do you think I should try for substrate or is this super crazy?

I've heard of it, my dishes usually start pining in the fridge. Sawdust as your sub, I've done mono tubs outside in the winter with pasteurized sawdust.

They should do just fine in the fridge. All my refrigerated enoki plates get wall to wall fruits after a verry short time.

Do you have any pics? And what do you use as your substrate? ^

This one is just sawdust and oat spawn. I froze it solid in a chest freezer. Then fruited it in a green house at around 60 degrees.

This is one of my plates that fruited in the fridge.

Hi,

I’d like to start growing Enoki in a dedicated fridge so I can produce all year long despite external temperature fluctuations.

I got a question about gas exchange, as the fridge will be closed is it compulsory to drill a hole in it and get a fan to extract air at regular intervals?
