My cakes have benn birthed for a about a week now and no signs of any mushrooms. In a rubbermaid with perlite i also have a small tupperware container with a tank heater filled with water to keep it warm cause my house is kinda cold. They look good and i see moisture on the walls of rubbermaid but mush growth yet. during incubation i really didnt expose them to light or let them pin in the jar was that bad? Thanks for your replies any help is greatly appreciated

you mentioned you were keeping the birthing tank heated. How heated? Above 75F they'll just stay in the colonization phase. You need to drop the temp to get them to fruit sometimes.

yeh if the temps are right, you should see pins in another week or so.

Well im not sure about the exact temp but the heater in the small tupperware is set to about 85 its covered and i take the lid off to expose to light while thats going on its sealed with saranwrap
how much light is necissary a day

Well how long did you keep the incubation time? Every species got his own period, but I would suggest you to keep the cakes inside the jar till the mycelium will be formed everywhere...
Amd yes, what about the temp?

Yes as mex stated the cakes should be fully colonized b4 removal from the jars, if you don't wait long enough, pinning can be slow, and contams are likely. You DO need to turn the temps down about 10 degrees. Keep em at about 75f, go buy a cheap ass thermometer and CLOSELY check your temps! Several mins of light a day should be enough to initiate pinning, but many growers like more like 5-6 hrs a day. 75f + light + gas exchange = mush.
