As I said....found both chicken and hen of the woods growing next to each other...both were prime and a sampling made a delicious pasta cream sauce....sorry for crappy pics, but it was getting dark and had to use shitty flash. I've never seen this before.

You're very welcome....I want to go back for more but won't be able to get there again until Saturday....by then, they will probably be too far gone....shame because they were some of the most tender and fragrant (delicious) of both species that I have run across....the laetiporus were the brightest orange that I have seen.

very nice, Thayendanegea. what a fortunate find!
I've got an old oak stump in the woods behind my house on which L. cincinnatus has been growing for years...found a nice hen last year that was extra fragrant, put some pieces of it on the stump, and now i've got hen on one side and chicken on the other, growing from the root system.
the chicken seems to be petering out this year; the harvests have been quite a bit smaller than years past which makes me

What a fun find! Now all you need is some Lyophyllum decastes and Suillus americanus and you'll have a whole suite of myco-poultry. :P
