Not entirely sure lol. Made this tiny spawn jar as a joke i really wasnt expecting it to bear fruits. Not complaining though. Think i should break the glass ?

Can't tell if that's trich or bruising.  Looks dry either way, and bad.

PF cakes are a bulk substrate, with flour as the nutrient source and vermiculite as the water reservoir.  They can pin without a casing.  IMO the best explanation for this I've heard is that cubes pin from low nutrition sites.

There aren't any real sites like that on a pure grain cake.  Its water capacity is considerably lower than a PF cake, and its nutritional load is higher.  If you want to learn about how to fruit straight grains, look up V-tek and read it.  Well worth while.

Since that looks uber dry, I'd dunk it, put it back in the jar, and case it with straight coir.  Once the coir is partially colonized, remove the lid of the jar and put it into fruiting conditions.  Use bottomwatering (v-tek.)

You can't sterilize coffee ground in the microwave, certainly not without melting a freezer bag and using the microwave for a long long time, such a long time.  If you want to sterilize them do it in the pressure cooker.  If you sterilize, you must fully colonize them under sterile conditions.  Otherwise you need to pasteurize them to use them as a part of a bulk substrate.  IMO, best not to fuck with coffee when you're learning.  That shit is a trichsplosion waiting to happen if you misstep.

I'm not usually one to say this, and more the one to propose weird solutions, but follow a tech.  No creative sideventures.  Everything you've posted looks disgusting and contaminated (no offense.)  V-tek or frank's 12 steps is what I'd look at.  If you have a pressure cooker PF tek is a waste of time, money, and space.

You don't need to handle colonized grains/colonized substrate with gloves, it's pointless.

Lastly, please post pics of your LC.  It's very hard to get clean LC, and you could easily waste a lot of time inoculating things with a dirty one.

I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister.  I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave.  I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent.
Triggered yet?

Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."

No, this does not look right...

Yeah its bruising. Ive since got an idea what spawn is supposed to look like . Got a healthy mini bulk tub going with a casing layer. Grabbing a new substrate , bird seed is disgusting , though that said ive only had a few spawn jars get contaminated. Also the seeds look too much like pins lol cant tell the pins apart from seeds. The LC is clean im getting full colonization with contams just fine. Thanks for the tek will give that a read. I havent not been following a tek , im just kind of using bits and peices from them all. I do own a PC microwave stuff is just pissing around .
