my first attempt at fruiting. used wild bird seed , pasturized and pressure cooked. some of the cakes are 125ml cakes , other are 250ml and that little plastic dish I broke up about 500-600ml of wbs spawn and put a very loose layer of coco coir on it also for giggles, that tiny little jar there that im gonna attempt to fruit in vitro. ill have a few questions I will post below the pictures I could use some help thanks guys yall are great <3

as far as the health of my cakes go ( is the one that is not completely taken over on the top going to be okay ? also ive only been able to keep it just above 60F will it even pin at this temp ? im using a small thin flourecent tube as light how long should pins take to show might one rekon ?
thanks any tips and criticism appreciated I love this community

I don't like to say, but I don't think you are going to get results trying to fruit WBS cakes, as they need some kind of casing layer. Also is that green in the picture or blue?

could I perhaps use an air pump with an airstone going into a cup of water in my chamber to give off extra humidity/less maintaining ? ( sometimes ill be running home in a panic to mist them )

I think the main issue is with getting enough moisture inside the cake. There is a previous post about fruiting in the jar with a small casing layer, perhaps you could try that

Is this a "kit" you purchased?
The foil all the cakes are on is way too big. You want the humidity from the perlite to rise up the cake not around it like what's happening now.
They definitely don't look too dry they look super wet.
Don't use an air pump. They have no place in in mycology.
The cake is bruising blue most likely from too heavy of misting. Via the mist is not fine enough. Huge water droplets are beating up your poor cakes.
Fruiting temp is 75 degrees. 60 degrees and lower will drastically slow down your process and can even stall them from fruiting completely.
What tek are you following?

No kit no specific tek , wingin it . ah I was almost afraid that was contamination so I guess don't mist them directly but rather indirectly into the pearlite ? ill go wipe them off now, also remove the tinfoil ?

Right now keeping the lid open and fanning it to take water off that is on cakes , but keeping pearlite misted . gonna try to find a lamp or something to stick in there for more heat

Could you post more pics of the other cakes? Also if you had some pics of them colonizing in the jars ?

. I have since moved my 600 watt HPS light above my FC and tossed that cake, the temperature is what its supposed to be at now I dont have pics of it colonizing but will take pics of the rest off the jars tomorrow. they all colonized well and fast from the liquid culture I knocked em with . and as for the health of the rest of the cakes , they are all well , minorly bruised from being too wet but now that the temp is better seems to be going at a better pace will take p[uics tommorwoo

I didn't literally do that lol , I utilized the heat of a grow light which is also vegetating plants , I just placed the FC close enough to the light to catch some indirect heat and raise temp by 5-7 degrees or so . Its working quite well it seems

I love the idea of growing shrooms with weed. But if your flowering. 6/18 hours of like not good for shrooms. Just leave your SGFC out in the open. Regular day lighting is just fine man.
