So I inoculated a half dozen pf tek jars 17 days ago and not a single one has any growth at all. This isn't my first time but I'm not a expert by any means. I also just knocked up a fresh half dozen jars two days ago with a different syringe and there already showing growth.
I'm thinking I either got a bad syringe or I made the mix overly dry. By the way how dry would result in no growth as all I did was add a little extra brf as I got the verm too wet.
Main point for all u experts. After how long can you just toss it? I've read peope saying it took a month before they saw the first sign of myc

Unless you need the jars for something else I would leave for a couple more weeks and see what happens.

I don't understand unless I just got a bad syringe. But I do think I may have made the mix to dry. I've done this four or five times and never had this happen.
When making verm/brf mix for jars do you guys follow the recipe to a t or do you change it a little?
I've found that If i use exactly the 2:1:1 ration it doesn't seem to be enough water. The teks always say whne you add a cup of water to two cups of verm there should be a little puddle of water when you tip the mixing bowl. In the past I've never considered this i just used 2 cups verm and 1 cup water and its been fine.
Do you guys think I should add extra water in order to get that little puddle or just stick with the exact recipe even though the piddle of water doesn't happen ?

Exact recipe. Better to be dry than wet. Sounds like old spores to me.

yeah a 0% success rate does not occur with a slightly dry mix. that's a bad/old syringe.
still, i went by exact recipe and my jars were all too wet. so i lowered the water content slightly to get it just right and now it looks a lot dryer then it actually is. i can even see little grains of brf rolling around freely in the jars on one side, while having condensation drops on the other.
looks are deceiving, your mix is perfect.
you should contact the vendor of the syringe, you may be entitled to a replacement.
