The Most Scared I've Been!!!

I took this in the summer of last year dring a Safari in Tsavo West - Kenya.
The white you see in the bottom right is the top of the van we were in.
The adrenaline sure was pumping when I took the photo, the thought that if the Lion wanted, he could have pounced and had me for dinner with ease was frightening.

Here he is hooked up with his ladies, If I remember right he had 4 Lionesses and 4 Cubs with him.
Whenever they moved he always sent the Lionesses to scout.
In this pic they were watching a herd of Gazelle, no doubt contemplating lunch.

What a beautiful animal! You're very lucky to have gotten so close to take that picture.. (and to escape without a scratch )

And here's some of the locals. I especially like the way the kid in the bottom right is caught in mid-air.

I have a picture of an 12ft aligator that I had taken from the bank of a canal on merrit island in Fla. 3ft was the distance and when I backed away he began to follow me. sadly, had he eaten me it wouldn't have been a good meal.
the manatee's were a lot less scarry, I like the unguided tours, I get better photos.

-------------------- "A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." -Al Einstein

'Tis true! One Lioness would be way out in front, then another, then the main group. The Lion was about a further 500 yards behind.
