I guess it doesn't matter

If there's an afterlife, nothing here matters much. If there isn't an afterlife, nothing here matters much.

If there is more to this, then the creator/purpose was to convince you with every painstaking detail that when you die, you're gone... indefinitely... so if this is some kind of test/school as the new agers claim, then knowing it would really undermine the whole purpose of going through this life, thus all these channelers must be false.

If there is more than this, then we were put here to deal with death as an ultimate conclusion- the end, not to erase that event from our worries with stories of an everlasting soul and spirit.

In conclusion, we're naturally going to contemplate why we're here, but it looks like if we are here for any higher purpose, we are suposed to think we're not anyway, so why convince yourself that there's an afterlife? If there is a God/creator/plan, IT WANTS YOU TO THINK THIS IS FINITE AND DEAL WITH IT!

It's not according to who, it's the fact that there is no evidence whatsoever to indicate that there is an afterlife or higher purpose. If there is a God or plan to this, one that involved us knowing there was more than this 3d, tangible, finite earth life, then you would think that this creator or purpose would manifest some event/article/etc. to let us know there is more that we should be thinking about or preparing for or some code to adhere by.

Since this has never happened except by man's own words and attempts to give life purpose, it means that if there is a creator or higher purpose, then we are not supposed to have any idea of its existence anyway.

Allow me to quote Chris Rock...."..If everybody knew they had life after death..the WHOLE world would be crazy! CRAZY! WAAAY CRAZZIER!.."

If we all had clear memories of our beautiful home in the 4th dimension compared to this plane of negativity, We'd all be jumping off of bridges.
But, I do believe that the universe DOES give us clues and hints, signs, etc...similar to those essential and crucial bottles of water marathon runners grab from the spectators to keep em going and keep on running...
But, not everybody sees, or understands the signs...

Anyways, the bottom line is, you're right, in the end, it really DOESN'T matter...because everybody goes back to the same place when we all die.
