You were right, fuck LC, unless you're working with agar, in a SAB; I admit defeat. Guess it's back to the spore syringes for the time being.

And then I melt my syringe because the steam ran dry

How did you go from spore syringe to LC, back to spore syringe? Is agar warming the bench or what?

Technically I went from spore syringe, to bacterial contamination, and then back to spore syringes. I think I had success once, with a mutant, but that was before I moved, and there's no place with still air here. The AC is constantly on. There's also very disgusting people here who let fully colonized trichoderma sporulate in cups in the sink. They don't grasp the concept of soaking dishes. They're not supposed to be in there for days..

I've had agar offered to me, but I need to go make a SAB beforehand, and get petris, ect - It's really not in my budget.

If you don't have any still air in your whole place then, and I hate to recommend it, but maybe you should look into a shmuvbox.

Know how to get plastic out of a cooking pot? I can sterilize a new syringe today and get a spore syringe ready to go, but I think I ruined my pot. Is there a solvent that'll take it off? Preferably one that's fumes won't kill me.

I was wondering that also.
Were your print to syringe ok?
Cause if you went vendor syringe, then print, then syringe to LC.
print to to syringe may also be an issue.
Oh did you go vendor syringe to spawn, and vendor syringe to LC?
Seems like the LC should have worked just fine?

All my spore syringes (home made) turned out great, with the exception of the PE print that I should have transferred to agar first. I don't use vendors.

I had a friend watch my PC once and ran it dry. I returned the PC. It was cheap presto and it killed the seal.
It may flake off or chip off, once cool.
Man I know about that dish thing. What I tell em is if the water isnt warm your not soaking, and no food in the sink.

If a SAB breaks your budget.... I don't even know what to say. First maybe do something about the moving air. If not, I don't even know what to recommend other than maybe agar plates with SHIPs or something.
Seriously though, if you can't buy an SAB... then getting silicone and more syringes is out of the question.
I don't know what to say man. You seem to have internet and time to fuck around.

I wouldn't call them "hobbyists", but I have had someone talk about investing into my grows. I've been letting them take quite a bit of my harvests as of yet. Hoping they'll have some sort of Epiphany

I would have to let them observe me for a while and watch Let's Grow Mushrooms before I let them touch anything. It's hard to teach people who have ADHD. They can't pay attention and want to get straight to the point, and therefore wind up cutting corners and having to learn from experiences.

That is not necessarily the best idea.
If worst comes to worst, there is this thing you can do where you provide services for a company in exchange for monetary pay. I find these to be the best way to gain some disposable income.
If this doesn't suite your fancy, then go to a garage sale and offer the seller 1 dollar for one of the plastic bins they are peddling their shit out of. Just the other day I bought a basically brand new FoodSaver for 5 dollars, roll of plastic included. I was shocked at the price cause they are damn near 70 dollars brand new. Moral is... garage sales, man.

Find a cardboard box in a dumpster and make two holes in it. Cut a window hole too and put Saran Wrap over it. If you can't find Saran Wrap go dumpster diving and find clear plastic that you can tape over it.
Free SAB! All you gotta do is pick up some trash. Shoot me a pm and I'll send you some mini rounds and a handful of polyfil.
No more excuses. Agar is the way, the truth, and the light. You should see all the stuff floating around in your air.
