gymnopilus?

gows on pinus nigra stump. smell is distinctive, reminds me of gymnopilus iunonius. mushroom is 7cm tall and 3cm in diameter. half of gills are twice shorter.

could it be young g. sapineus?? last year they used to grow there.

doesn't resemble any gymnopilus species that I am familiar with, however wait for a TI to elaborate

if they grew there last year, there's a good chance of them growing in the same spot again if they dropped their spores there. do they look the same as the ones you found last year?

i didnt get spores because its too young mushroom. last year i spotted them only when they were fully grown.

why? it has some very hypholoma looking features to me.  i didn't think that was too off base, if it is at all.

it has a cortina, viewed in the second pic at the top.

what do you think it ought to be?

many things say its not. flesh is hard, there is no trace of dark color spores, stem is not hollow... i think its some kind of gymnopilus, maybe sapineus.
