Simple enough, got some 10ml vacutainer tubes from a sponser...
I dont need slants to last me a year+, and from what I read the SHIP lids wont allow enough GE for a culture slant
buuuut
can I just take a LI solution and shoot it in there, bam into the fridge and when I need to use again, draw up a tiny bit of the LI and spray it onto agar?
Would this be a viable method for storing short term (up to a year?)

I would think it would be okay. Haven't had much experience with the shelf life of LI, usually I use it within a short amount of time.

Not sure on the shelf life without GE. I did wanna let you know that the vacuum inside if those things makes it really tough to aspirate from.

Once the vacutainer is full the pressure is equalized. What I do is get another syringe full of sterile water and while pushing down on the injection port(to keep it from popping off) push plunger down on syringe and let go and the pressure will push a little LI back into the syringe. This is done with the vacutainer upside down. Im probably not explaining this the best it could be explained but it simple. Give it a shot. Vacutainers work miracles for shipping, storing and diluting spores and cultures.

I got ya.
I still had results using one. I just tried it the hard way once and didn't try again. Don't let me discourage anyone though, they are useful.
