How much does one syringe generally yield using the PF TEK method? Also, would that be ten 8 oz jars?
Thanks!

That question is absolutely impossible to answer...there are too many variables... and yeah, those jars are fine.

that's hard to answer because a syringe using the pf tek would be 1cc in each inoculation port and that's 4 per jar so you could knock up 10 jars total with a 10cc syringe. Now the conditions in which you fruit them will determine your yield. Yes 8oz wide mouth.

i think idici meant to say 1/4cc per hole, 1cc per pf jar. so ten 8oz jars with one syringe although sometimes its hard to get it exact and you might end up a bit short.
there are mad variables like they said above but you can count on 3-5 dry grams per cake (if you follow the tek). it can definitely be higher than that with bit of genetic luck and good conditions but thats a fairly good estimate i'd say

I appreciate the answers. I know their is no absolute answer because of the variables, was only looking for a range per jar.

10 cakes can easily pull off a dry ounce...give or take...but you may get really good or bad genetics...

Yeah, if you grab a nice stable MS like B+, PES Hawaiian/Amazon, Golden Teahcer, there are more. That has been selectively bread for a long time. I have always preferred Pes Hawaiian for cakes. But that could just be me. The others do very well also. (I know ppl will say a cubes a cube, and for the most part that is true).
You can almost certainly get 3.5g a cake first flush, even without dunking and rolling. Just topping, and placing on a base of hydrated verm. I havent done cakes in a long time, so I dont have experience with quantity when dunking and rolling.
Using 0.25CC's per injection point, 1CC a cake. If you dont mind waiting a little longer you can do just 2 injection points (0.5CC a cake). However syringes/prints arent very expensive and the whole processes is pretty quick anyway that 1CC per cake is preferred.

Just wanted to point out to the OP that you can also inoculate more then the suggested amount, say 2CC per cake, if you wanted to speed up colonization. I doubt you'll want to do it this way if you only have one or two syringes or don't like being wasteful. I was feeling impatient and tried it out and definitely noticed more aggressive colonization. Took about 3 weeks full colonization including 5 day consolidation.
This was done with 6 jars Golden Teacher and 6 jars Creeper and I feel I should mention the Creeper seemed slightly more aggressive. Oh and i used about 1 and a half syringes for this so not exactly 2CC per cake, but more then 1 definitely. All in all definitely worth the extra spores IF, you can spare them.

When dealing with MS inoculation, colonization times are more temperature and strain dependent.
Adding more spore solution isn't going to make much of a difference as a single drop of solution usually has thousands if not more spores in it.
Adding extra could even slow colonization if you throw off your moisture content too much.
When dealing with MS and spores in general more is not necessarily better.

Don't add more spore solution for faster colonization time. That's the worst advice anyone could give you. All you're doing is adding more chance for contaminants and more genetic variety. The lesser the better.

I find inoculation points/sites are what increases speed over concentration at one site.
Using more solution can cause this effect by running further down the sides.

Because you're allowing spores to germinate in different spots. More inoculation points.

Thanks again for all the input... Im going with 2 syringes, 20 jars. For the fruiting, I was thinking of using a CFL, probably 2. At what distance should I have this set up?

CFL bulbs will work. Although 6500k light is best. With CFL's I would keep about 12 inches away or more, you don't want the radiant heat from the bulb to interfere with your environment. I use lights that are cool enough just to lay on top of the tote with no issues.
