Mushroom found in Georgia. ID Help Please!
    #22364963 - 10/11/15 07:02 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Hey Guys! I was hoping if any of you could help identify this particular mushroom right here. I found this in Georgia, in the woods... in horse crap. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Some characteristics of it are:
White, (kinda thick) hollow stem
Brown gills
Bruises Blue

I think it's a waterlogged cube, Psilocybe cubensis, but I think if you eat it you might get food poisoning

This is probably a noob question but is it still safe to get the spores from it? If not thanks for the help anyways!

You can try but it will be hard to get a print that isn't contaminated with it in that shape. You're prob better off making a slurry from it and pouring it over any other cow/horse pies in that same area and hoping for additional growth in the future.

Someone else weigh in if you have a better idea.
