Base of an oak tree at the edge of a pond two days after a soaking rain. Left them there 'cause I wasn't sure. I'd appreciate an ID if possible from my crummy photo.
Can go back tomorrow if the deer don't get them first.

You are absolutely right. I went back today and 90% of this was harvested. I'm SHOCHED to learn I have some competition in the woods near my home! I don't feel totally bad though. I got some nice portions myself, PLUS I found another bouquet of Chicken of the Woods on a fallen Oak log, and picked some nice King Stropharia (one is 8" across!) from the wood chips in the gardens at the Marriott near my place of business!
