Hello fellow psychonauts! I am starting my first cultivation. I was graciously given a small amount of agar to start with, and I am looking for some good teks with photos step by step to use as a reference as I go along. I have seen many great threads but not many with photos of the progressing grow. I appreciate any tips and links to good tek. For reference here is a list of equipment and materials I plan to use.
Pressure cooker Mason jars Agar Rye berry substrate Tyvek Shotgun fruiting chamber 6500k lighting w/timer Perlite Still air box/glove box Small rectangle Tupperware for fruiting cakes
Am I missing anything? If so please enlighten me. I plan on colonizing the rye berries by placing a small piece of the agar in the sterile jars of rye in my still air box. any and all help is welcomed. I am looking for a good timeline from start to finish as well. Thanks! Cheers!

There are many teks in this forum. Just takes some searching.
Im proud that your using agar because it seems to me as an intermediate choice.
What strain do you plan on growing?

If you have a PC, agar, and rye berries...then you can forget about the SGFC , along with the perlite...those are for cakes...sounds like you wanna do bulk grows...you wanna make a monotub, and although you CAN fruit subs in a plastic tray with a monotub, they are not necessary...you can just use a liner.

Thanks for all the replies! I will look into all these recommendations and post questions if/when I have them. Quote:

The agar I have is KSSS. I would also like to start some PE and APE, but I'll need to get the prints for those.

I'd suggest starting out with KSSS, great flushes and less finicky than PE or APE especially in my experience.

Hey guys, checking back in. I have an update with my eye berries. The following photo is of an issue I am having with one of my jars. It has a slight darkening discoloration around the mycelium and I am wondering what is going on. Any help will be greatly appreciated. http:// http://

Is this contamination or something else? Is there a way to prevent it from happening in the future? I made five jars and this is the only one that had this happen (so far).

Is this normal? The meat of this stem looked really green to me... This is the first mush to pop and mature. I cut it to keep my pins eg even and to sample my first flush. Is this color normal?

Shit, not like that though. In my experience at least, which I admit is not saying much.
It looks like its gooey in the centre.

Looks fine to me so long as the tub it came from doesn't look like it came from a swamps ass.
If it smells okay dry it out asap.
