So where would you say you did your growing up? The options are pretty straight forward, but we'll say that rural means that you are within a half hour of multiple places of business. Being from the boonies means that you are within thirty minute's distance of one or no places of business. Some of you may have moved a bunch, but if you moved from city to city then you'd still be from the city. I don't expect many of you will fill this option in, cause not many people move from the city to the country and back.

I wasn't sure whether I should put city or suburbs. My house is in what could probably be called a suburb, but it's really close to the downtown area.

I'm in the city. I've lived here all my life. I have been in the country, in small towns, etc., just to visit. It looks "homey", or "comfy", but I couldn't live there.
I like being able to go to a half a dozen different pool bars, and I like the traffic, and the people, and all that.
Out in the country, whatthefuck, there are birds chirping. Shoot me.

what about the bad karma you accumulate by drinking starbucks coffee? What's their thing? Second thursday of every month after 3 PM they sell fair trade? That may be out of date. I would think that lil' miss "I never steal 'cause it's always bad" would have a guilty enough conscience to not buy starbucks.
According to this guy I was talking to in Guatemala the people working on the plantations only eat tortillas and salt for the season so that they can save enough to send back and feed their families. That's some "harsh shit"

I was born and raised in Hawaii...it was in a cross between suburb and rural. more closer to suburb, really. Most beautiful place on earth.

My philosophy, about some parts of life, is this:
I was born to be a lawyer. Maybe not a rich lawyer, or a famour lawyer, but a lawyer, to help people.
Other people were born to help retarded children.
Other people were born to help stop abortions.
In the words of the king of siam, etc., etc., etc.
If I am busy fulfilling my role as a lawyer, and I am helping people, then it is not my role to stop the things that are going wrong in the rest of the world.
There are people whose jobs it is to stop bananas from being sold to me, if my government is "stealing" those bananas by exploiting 3rd world governments.
When those people bring that problem to my attention, I will stop buying bananas.
In the meantimes, I will continue to live my life as if my life doesn't affect any body.
