Which is better... Mono, Stereo, Re-Mastered?

Hello everybody. How are you all doing?
This is in regards to CD's. I was looking at buying a Byrd's CD and one of them it says the tracks are in 'Mono'. And the other it says the tracks are 'Re-Mastered' and then a few are 'Stereo Mixed'. I feel like I really should know this because I buy CD's quite often and play guitar... but what exactly does this mean... Is one better sound quality than the other? Or do both have their pros and cons just like vinyl and compact discs (CD's)? I don't mind spending extra money to get better sound quality because I want to enjoy the music to the best of its ability. Can someone please explain to me what this means and which is better? My apologies for this very noob question.
If you folks have never tried listening to The Byrds here are a few songs you may enjoy,
Bye everyone. Peace and Love.

depends which master gets the most attention in production, and when the recording was mastered.
for older 60's stuff, i'd go with mono.

Re-mastered.
While I don't know for sure, I'd be surprised if any audio was remastered into mono sound.

Quote:
stereo, is a method of sound reproduction that creates an illusion of multi-directional audible perspective. This is usually achieved by using two or more independent audio channels through a configuration of two or more loudspeakers (or stereo headphones) in such a way as to create the impression of sound heard from various directions, as in natural hearing.[1] Thus the term "stereophonic" applies to so-called "quadraphonic" and "surround-sound" systems as well as the more common two-channel, two-speaker systems. It is often contrasted with monophonic, or "mono" sound, where audio is heard as coming from one position, often centered in the sound field (analogous to a visual field). Stereo sound is now common in entertainment systems such as broadcast radio and TV, recorded music and the cinema.

Re-mastering involves taking older recordings and using modern equipment to make them sound more competitive and commercial usually.
Better? Seems to be an issue of where things were panned during mixdown if stereo. Early on it seems like producers were experimenting with stereo by throwing all the drums say in the left channel then the lead vocal all the way over to the right with guitars and whatnot...?! So if you have the ability to play that in mono it will sum the tracks and sound like they are all down the center.

Mono basically means all your speakers play the same sound, while stereo means different sounds come from different spots. Ever used headphones and they both sound a bit different? Stereo.
Re-mastered means they modified it digitally to try and improve the sound.
