    #22362605 - 10/11/15 10:35 AM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
Found in a previously harvested corn field. Specifically found at the base of rotting corn stocks. Loads of rain the past few days so the ground was soggy.

Gills:
Dark in color even black maybe DARK purple or red. Spore print came out black/same color as gills

Stem:
1, 2, & 3 inches in length, hollow, stringy thin, fiber-like texture, dark yellow (brown post harvest), no blue bruising as far as I can tell

Cap:
Large caps roughly 2&1/2 - 3 inches in diameter. Small caps 3/4 - 1 inch in diameter. Smallest caps 1/4 inch in diameter. Dimpled texture like wrinkled brown paper bag. Golden/brown when found now DARK brown. (some were black when found) Large caps concave in middle small caps convex nipple like tip.

Spore print color:
Black or maybe DARK purple or red

Bruising:
No bruising as far as I can tell.

Other information:
Not found in or around clear/present cow or horse manure but was found on farm in harvested corn field. Lots of rain the past few days and loads of rotting corn/plant matter on ground near find. Have had similar looking mushrooms before but not found wild. Smell and look very similar to what I have had in the past.
