Should the spore syringe be used to inoculate jars straight after being made or must you leave spore syringe to sit for a certain amount of time to inoculate jars?

Not necessary, just use them now.
But I'm sure you know that going from MS directly to jars could result in potential contams. No spore syringe is ever 100% clean.
That's why it's crucial to utilize agar to clean up your culture first before introducing it to your jars.

If your print is clean and you use sterile techniques it should be fine. However I would use a SAB, flowhood, etc.
I've made syringes in rooms that have been well cleaned and let sit for several hours to allow the air to calm down with successes. These rooms did not have pets/food/people living in them prior.
It was said years ago that its best to let the syringe sit overnight so the spores have time to hydrate. I've made syringes and shot them up a few hours after and didnt notice a difference.
I'm sure they need to hydrate to germinate. So if you can make the syringe first and then do the PC'ing of your substrate, your essentially multitasking and saving time.

I need a definite answer

You can use it right away... if it gives you peace of mind, then let it sit for 24 hours so the spores are fully hydrated...

i've heard usually if it's an old print let it sit and hydrate, if you made the print then made the syringe right after with your own mushroom then just roll with it.

I guess it really does not matter, unless they are old spores perhaps? Someone confirm the above statement.
RR said to put lube in the spore water if the syringe is not to be used straight away in Let's grow mushrooms! is this true? Anyone else seen Let's grow mushrooms!

i've heard a drop of astro glide keeps the friction down, and for spore syringes it prevents clumping i believe. you may be over thinking this though man. if your worried, wait, if your impatient just roll with it.
do you have a store bought print you just made up and wan to do some jars right now?

Bro...
I'm not overthinking anything, I need a definite answer, not just contradictory ones, I don't have an actual answer yet.
I don't have a spore bought anything nor have not done anything, I do not grow mushrooms.
I'm not impatient, just want an answer to my questions.

thats it. stop overthinking it.
or do you need it rephrased and simplified. old print=hydrate new print=no hydrate

I've been really patient with your questions... there is literally not one piece of contradictory advice in this thread...if you have a syringe USE IT...the only tI'm to worry about a syringe time wise is long term storage, which should be kept in the fridge.

If it happens to be an old print, and has to sit for 24 hours must lube be included?

No, it will be fine just sitting in water and i think adding anything to the syringe after its already been made will just invite contamination.

no add lube if you plan on storing it for 6+months Quote:

I let mine sit for a day before use but it's not needed, it helps. spores will hydrate just fine on the cake itself so it is by no means a big issue.
