Trippy anime's

Just started this interesting one called No Game No Life about a brother and sister who are shut in video game addicts who are switched into an alternate dimension/ universe or something that is ruled by the god of fun and everything is decided by games. I am halfway through the first episode and am pretty impressed so far, really colorful beautiful and trippy animation and they have thrown out some cool concepts so far.
If you dig anime and or videogames check it out, very well animated and the story seems pretty creative as well.
There are a ton of really creative and or trippy anime's out there though, I love finding new ones

I just googled that and nothing came up. Here are some of my favorites:
Fooly Cooly (was like the original super over the top trippy anime) Space Dandy Spriggan Akira Fullmetal Alchemist Welcome To The NHK Steins; Gate The .hack series Animatrix Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo Campione Cowboy Bebop (a few episodes are very trippy) Hellsing Kino's Journey Mushishi
Those all come to mind, there are tons of others though.
Also No Game No Life is getting a bit weird, some serious anime cliche's. As long as there is more trippyness and amazing animation its cool though.

I always forget about that one, definitely trippy. It was the og inception.

There's a few on Netflix similar to this. There's Sword Art Online where people get trapped in a VR RPG game.

Check out "(Escape from) Dead Leaves (Prison)"
Nevermind the music, but here is a vid to get an idea of the animation style. I for one dig it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsqhIixYa2k

You are welcome
Some of the shows in that list are super over the top ridiculous shows but some are more serious as well. I will try to think of more to add as well.
I am pretty sold on No Game No Life now, it is getting more of a fantasy vibe to it now but also has a nice scientific/ logic angle to it as well.

I watched sword art and have seen most of the .hacks which is almost the same plot
This show is pretty damn different so far, though I am only 3 episodes in.

I watched a few eps on adult swim but I have yet to get into it fully.
Seems a bit overly violent/ agro for my tastes, though I can look past violence in shows if I dig the concepts enough.
I guess I should give it another chance at some point

It really deserves a sequel too. Can't wait.

So are they making a part two then? I just finished episode 12 and am going to start the specials. Damn, of course they are super short.
They definitely did the cliches pretty well, was a pretty funny show. Slightly creepy at times but they did it pretty will

dude. dude. duuuuuuuuuuude.
watch Kyousougiga. now.
if you want an amazing anime that has outright trippyness that leaves you wondering is going on the first couple episodes, its one of my favorites.
very psychedelic. and silly & emotional.
edit: like strait up skip to this one if you want actual trippyness, all these other recommendations are good, but they don't even compare wise

I'm not saying I know of any plans to make a sequel. I just meant to say that they should make a sequel because the story and the characters deserve it. I expect the show to have been a success in terms of sales, but I'm not informed about the anime market really...

I checked the wiki article and did some reading and it seems there are plans to make a second season but it could be another year or two at least
Hopefully they get around to it becouse it definitely is a really cool story and I loved the animation. Already am tempted to re watch it since it was so short...

I just finished Brynhildr in the Darkness and was pretty impressed over all.
Had some akira type superhuman secret experiments and plenty of anime cliches. Had a nice balance of intensity and comic relief.
I would definitely recommend it.

I will have to reference this thread in the future so I don't forget all these shows I need to check out...
I started watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure earlier, pretty interesting so far. The dubbing is hilariously atrocious though, so many cliches

Well I watched all the episodes of the 2000 Jojo's Adventure and was getting pretty into it tell it stopped towards the climax of the arc....

Now I don't want to check the others out, I tried one and it was only 3 episodes and covered the same plot as the one I watched.....
Anyways I just started Jyu Oh Sei: Planet of the Beast King and am in love with the animation so far. I may need to get it on dvd if I can.
Here is the only pic I could find depicting some of the beautiful nature art:

Seems full of that style with some sci fi stuff too for balance, partway through the first episode and figured I would recommend it.

Couldn't find any decent vids for them but Serial Experiments Lain and xxxHolic
I've watched a fair amount of Fate/Zero and Black Lagoon on various psychedelics and too, but I dunno if that kind of show would mix well with tripping for others. Rather grim and brutal. I fucking love em though.

Those two vids both look cool, I watched all of one of the fate/stay nights on netflix recently and got pretty into it.
Definitely some cool n trippy concepts in it but it does get pretty intense, a lot of anime's do though. I love how many blend lewd comedy with dark concepts.

Indeed. The Fate series tend towards the darker end of the spectrum. Stay Night is comparatively tame to Fate/Zero or Kara no Kyoukai (which is the same universe as the Fates). I'd say the Stay Night anime is the objectively worst of the 3, though it's still a pretty awesome show.

I have been meaning to check the other ones out, I think netlix doesn't even have the full series of the one I watched so I need to finish that.
There are a few random anime's I still need to finish...

Seems full of that style with some sci fi stuff too for balance, partway through the first episode and figured I would recommend it.
whooaaaaaaa I will watch it definetly

My favorite Animes were:
Nausicaa valley of the Winds HOWL's MOVING CASLE (YOU MUST WATCH THIS ONE ON DRUGS- KETAMINE AND THIS MOVIE IS INSANE) Spirited Away
Also loved Samurai Seven, Balsa the Spearwoman, Death Note (not as visual but highly cerebrally intense)

Everything I post is fiction.

I just finished it and was pretty impressed, certain parts bothered me a bit but I loved the animation and the plot was pretty cool too.
Reminded me a lot of Nausica And The Valley in its nature animations but it had some heavy sci fi stuff too.

Pretty much all of myazaki's work is amazing, Princess Mononoke is one of my favorites, so is My Neighbor Totoro

I just finished Agent Aika which is one of the weirdest and perviest anime's I have seen in awhile. Has a funny secret agent/ sci fi spin too.
Some of the voice acting on the dub is the worst/ funniest I have ever heard. One of the main guys sounds like a retarded version of the Fonz
Literally one scene had 4 panty shots at once, and the last episode had like 6 consecutive ones and that is not an overstatement...
It was not overly trippy but it did have some bizarreness to it like many anime do. Super ridiculous plot. Overall I enjoyed it though.

I still need to finish inuyasha too, I watched all the netflix episodes awhile back but never finished it online.
Got pretty into it though as well as some nice nostalgia from watching it as a kid so I should get around to finishing it soon.
Will try to remember to check Ranma out too as I like that womans style for sure.
Speaking of nostalgia I re watched FLCL the other day finally and was very impressed. Love the soundtrack and animation, if only it was longer

Definitely one of my favorites
As far as sound tracks go, it might be my favorite of any movie I can think of...

There are a ton of great anime soundtracks man, I don't know how I could pick a favorite.
Started watching Darker Than Black earlier and have been getting pretty into it, has a nice jazzy soundtrack too that I have been really
