Spore density

First time with mushrooms, but thought it might be best here.
Should the density of spores in a syringe be high enough to allow some growth on Sabouraud medium with just 3-4 drops? I'm not seeing hyphae in my jars (PF Tek style), nor on the plates with Sabouraud dextrose that I had lying around, and am wondering if the syringes were bad or if the density of spores is just that low.

13 days ago. No signs of growth in either of two syringes used- different strains of cubensis. I have extensive tissue culture experience, and a graduate course in mycology many years ago, so I kinda know what I'm doing but am confused at what I see.
Now that I look at reviews, I find my suppler has had problems this year- individuals complaining their syringes did nothing. So perhaps the problem is not on my end.

I would believe so. Only two are needed and even a very light syringe has hundreds if not thousands.
I personally make syringes for agar REALLY concentrated so i can use a single drop. The extra water can help bacteria contam the plates and if there are contaminates in the syringe from the print being contaminated i simply smear the drop and transfer out.
Shipping temperatures or errors on the sponser's part can cause dud syringes. Asking for a replacement doesn't seem too unreasonable.

Spores from Syzygy took 4 days to sprout on Sabouraud; still no growth from either of the spore syringes from the first vendor- plates or jars. But I now have growth in jars from other spore syringes, so- now there is some level of success!

Well now you know it was the syringes and not your media or technique. That's always reassuring.
Now that you have actives growing all you need is a pleurotus species or lentinula edodes

You should see some growth, maybe not at every inoculation point, if the syringe was really sparse.
If your just seeing growth now, I'd wait a while longer. Maybe boost up the temp in your room a little if its below 70F.
Is it possible that you were only squirting enough liquid to cool the syringe each time you inoculated?
Also sometimes the spores like to clump up in the syringe and a good shake is needed. Course then you would have seen some growth somewhere from these syringes.
