Once apon a time when i was younger, my ol life long friend parents kicked me out of there house ( they are hardcore christians with little intelligence, but not because there christians just cause there idiots) kicke me out of there house cause his father knew i smoked weed in the past Since someone is religious doesnt mean there tolerant to others, there honest to *god* bigots
I told him its his house and left
Jankys mom kinda sounded like a christian bigot who has to press there views onto other people. Although you coulda been alittle more nice to her.

My mom forced me to go to church this morning....
I honestly can't stand church. I nearly walked out because how fucking regarded, bigoted, and ignorant the priest sounded. Church pisses me off. When the priest talked about cannabis I nearly heckled him and told him he was an idiot.

I think every intelligent person goes through a phase of questioning, criticizing and rejecting their religion.
However like the prodigal son returning home, later in life some reconnect with their religion with a new perspective and understanding and come to value it greatly .
But you don't return to the same religion you left. You instead discover a new religion, seeing it in a new light .
Once you have rejected everything in your religion that doesn't resonate with your soul, what remains is priceless treasure.
When I was a teenager I criticized and rejected Christianity fully. Then I began studying and practicing buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, yoga, shamanism and meditation.
Later I reconnected with Christianity as well and now I practice my own unique fusion of all the above wisdom traditions. I am now a Christian to my core , but that doesn't mean I accept all the nonsense and evil people push under the name of christianity. And it doesn't mean I am only a Christian - I am a human who learns from and practices the best aspects of all religions while leaving aside anything that doesn't resonate with my sense of compassion and wisdom.
At the end of the day the true heart of religion can be summed up in three words- compassion, wisdom and love .
Anything that resonates with these three values is true religion. Anything that does not you simply cast aside and give it no further thought .
It's also worth noting that science has proven that religious people are both happier and healthier, and live substantially longer, then non religious people. In fact regular church (or temple) goers live an average of seven years longer then those who do not attend religious observances.
So objectively, scientifically speaking, religion is adaptive, functional and beneficial.

For what is worth op the few times ive been in a church, got some horrible vibes not to mention the shit they usually preach about homosexuality and how gods word is LAW

Your mom sounds like she has good intentions i guess, but her pressing her views onto you like that is insecure and foolish

This. I kind of acted like my parnets were retarded when they practiced any form of religion. Only to find myself reconnect with it once I hit about 18-20. I am one of those bastards who says they are not "religious but spiritual". I don't believe in a personified force that created everything. Emptiness, compassion, atman, jesus's teachings of buddha... they are all awesome as fuck. Janky tits; I suggest you look into faiths in the east. Christianity and even islam has some amazing wisdom. It is just deeply buried in oceans of bullshit and retarded bigots. Start your own practice and use the insghts psychedelics and MDMA have given you to push forward and remove the illusion and dream tthat is reality

Where exactly did the writers of these texts come up with the scattered bits of wisdom they stumbled upon? You don't need religion for wisdom.
