Southern Michigan ID Request
    #22359797 - 10/10/15 04:07 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat:
The first mushroom was found growing by itself directly off of horse dung around tall grass. The second kind of mushroom was found near the edge of a forest in the grass. I couldn't walk 5 feet without seeing one of them in that area.

Gills:
Horse dung mushroom: very dark brown. Maybe light black.
Second mushroom: very light colored brown/white gills. I'm sure it's inactive but it looked interesting and there are tons of them so I'm curious

Stem: first mushrooms stem was about 3-4 inches. The stem broke pretty easily just from carrying it around, and bruised really dark brown after about 10 minutes.
Second mushroom: thick stem. Same color as the lighter brown color on the cap. Has veil remnants on a few of them

Cap: the pictures show most of the characteristics. The first mushroom is a bit scaly on the cap as you can probably see.

Spore print color: in progress

Bruising: first mushroom bruised dark brown. Second shroom had no visible bruising

I'm pretty sure neither of these are actives, but I haven't seen either of them before and I hardly ever see mushrooms growing off of horse poop around here so it got me curious. Thanks for the help guys
