So i plan on doing an outdoor grow next spring. Im gonna follow moes tek. It calls for only the need of cakes, horse poo, and pasteurized straw. Is there anything else i could add to improve the grow? Gypsum maybe? Also is there a type of bought manure that works best?

depends on the species. woodlover? cubensis?
field aged horse manure is best.
I can't speak from experience but maybe a nice little soil/leaf/forest debri layer on top would be appreciated.

I took some old cakes, on there third flush, coverd them up with a thin layer of dirt and dried grass clippings in the shade and neglected them just to see what would happen. Didn't even dunk them before hand and got 3/4 of a zip dried. I'm sure if you do what you are saying and put some tlc into it you will be more than happy with your results. They seem to grow huge outdoors with all the FAE too.

Some calcium (i used oyster flour) wouldn't hurt, i normally put 50/50+ over my straw to keep moisture in, make it harder for contams to enter, and supply some calcium. And i second that they grow a lot larger outdoors. Most i get are 2-3g dry, and i've gotten a really meaty 9g mushie.
