ID Help. So cal
    #22356876 - 10/09/15 10:44 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

So I found a few mushrooms this past month and need some help to ID them. Not much at all but im still highly interested to find out what they are.

First 2 pics is one, next 2 pics is another and last 2 pics are different as well. Possible Pan. foes?

C. Molybdites is #1, #2 I would guess Psythrella Sp. and same for third pic.

EDIT: On second thought I don't know what #2 is but #3 looks like a psythrella possibly not for sure.

The brown ones where found in grass around apartment lawns. No blue bruising. Are psythrella active?

Last one looks like a Bolbitius species.

None of those you have are active. I believe there is one Psythrella active sp.? I'm not entirely sure honestly, but it is NOT a good type of mushroom to hunt for when looking for actives. Usually Pans. or Psilos are best. Maybe Gyms depending where u live...

Thanks guys. I am both looking for actives and studying the mushies in my area. Their may be a little rain later in the week, I did some research and will be exploring hiking trails that have horse ranches near by. Ill be taking pics with my dslr. Am I looking Pans in the horse poop?

Pan. Cincts. can appear in horse manure as I have read, but personally I have not found it here in SoCal where I live. I HAVE found them in freshly sodded lawns though, usually after rains and within 2-3 years of being sodded mostly. Sometimes you'll find them here and there in older lawns as well. Don't mistake them for pan foes which are edible but inactive.
