Perlite Humidity Monotub?
    #22355140 - 10/09/15 04:01 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

wasup? here is the scenario... 1 inch layer of perlite & 1/4in water at bottom of monotub for humidity, trash can liner over that & compost/mycel would go on top of trash can liner. tub would have 4 holes on each side w micropore tape to cover and would fan out at least 2x day to get extra co2 buildup out. Should this create sufficient humidity w low chance of contam?

Perlite is useless without holes in the bottom of the tub for air flow that's why it works in a SGFC... and pooling stagnant water would encourage contamination... if your substrate was properly brought to field capacity before spawning there is plenty enough moisture in it for the humidity you need so there is no use for the perlite...
