I can't find a picture of this tub when it was finished but it turned out great.
Uncased straw based bottles do great.

Reishi does well on uncased straw too (there is a verry small amount of sawdust in there too).

After I get laid off. I'll make a cube straw tub and take lots of pictures.

Awesome. I should be building a couple tubs of AA+ from an agar clone in a few days.

Yeah, AA+ has been very prolific for me too.
Love seeing your fat grows from MS by the way!

Wouldn't a huge benefit of straw be that it's got lots of open areas and shit due to it's physical formation, leading to evaporation and shit? Seems like casing might take away some of that benefit by covering up the little nooks and crannies straw creates.

Thanks man, I think anyone growing tubs from ms should wait to see pins popping up before putting into fruiting conditions. I think it helps greatly with pinsets

I've always waited for pins or at least knots before fruiting any of my tubs.

Cut up silicone tubes

agar poured on tubes & sterilized.

I spoke of this a few years back, there is quite a lot of surface area for myc to grow on. I was wondering about drinking straws but the weight of the silicone allows it to be easily shakeable. So its similar to a GLC jar but without the inherent risk with grains. If I add water I expect I will be able to dislodge a lot of the myc easily.

Very cool, I think I will try this, or something similar
