Congratulations ... that's the dumbest post on this thread and that's saying something because there are a lot of dumb posts here, many by you.

Derp derp I guess the whale can't read. "30% of the nation’s welfare recipients are Californians – even though California has just 12% of the nation’s population."

Without other states, California would have imploded a long time go.

Sadly, that is not the case today.  Despite a much-heralded recovery in the media and by Governor Jerry Brown, California still has one of the nation’s highest unemployment rates.  Also, more than 30% of the nation’s welfare recipients are Californians – even though California has just 12% of the nation’s population.  It is not surprising, therefore, that California is ranked number one in poverty.

You've got things terribly backwards. California puts in far more tax dollars than it utilizes. The South sucks California's titties for subsistence.

Since 1967, there have been 8 GOP Governors terms in California and 5 Democrat Terms.

Just saying.

So California's tax rate is why they have so many poor? I thought higher taxes alleviate poverty???

Overwhelming illegal immigration numbers have played a bigger role in the California poverty numbers than any other state with the possible exception of Texas.

So why don't they secure their border? They're border is a heck of a lot smaller than texas's...

And isn't it always libs who tell us illegals ADD more to the economy than they take from it?

So how is this even possible???

Hey Packard,

Why do you think California has 30% of the nation's welfare recipients?

Sadly, that is not the case today.  Despite a much-heralded recovery in the media and by Governor Jerry Brown, California still has one of the nation’s highest unemployment rates.  Also, more than 30% of the nation’s welfare recipients are Californians – even though California has just 12% of the nation’s population.  It is not surprising, therefore, that California is ranked number one in poverty.

Follow along now. If California received as much as they put in, instead of giving it to the welfare whores down South, they wouldn't have a poverty problem ;-)

Higher taxes don't alleviate poverty, unless they're used to alleviate poverty. Just so you're aware, I am not an advocate of just mindlessly raising taxes. This is simple stuff guy.

Also, since you're probably not aware: B comes after A, C comes after B, and E comes after C. When you add one and one, you get two.

Just in case you missed it ...

California has Mt. Whitney, the Lakers, Big Sur, Napa Valley, Hollywood, the 49ers, Silicon Valley, Apple, Google, the Dodgers, The Sierra Nevada Mountains, the Redwoods, Yosemite, Death Valley, Lake Tahoe, Malibu, Facebook, Tesla, Twitter, the Padres, The Clippers, San Francisco, Sonoma, Stanford, UCLA, Mt. Shasta, UC Berkeley, USC, Universal Studios, Dreamworks, the Angels, the Golden State Warriors, the Raiders, Beverly Hills, San Joaquin Valley, Netflix, 50% of all great rock bands

The South has Wal Mart, rednecks, the highest obesity rates in the nation, sweet tea and the least educated slice of America.

Adios.
