Possible Edible Amanitas - please help ID

Hi all! Had my first ever wild mushroom hunt and could have come up in spades with this one however it could just as easily be a death sentence for the unsuspecting eye...I'd like to eat these if not toxic and enjoy the trip.
Please help with correct ID, don't want to make first step into mycology the last one! Thanks all
1. These were found under long needle conifer and not sharing space with any other mushroom:

2. These were found under same type of conifer, however in active cow grazing pasture and also sharing space with a few white Amanitas (likely Destroying Angels):

Thanks for the replies!
Habitat: Mixed deciduous/conifer woodland, active cattle grazing pasture
Gills: white
Stem: color cream white with orange tinge, uniform thickness from cap to bulbous
Cap: shiny orange, white fluff spots (warts??)
Spore print color: Not obtained
Bruising: Not obtained
Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Nice find!
Its a variety of the classic red/white Amanita muscuria. I forget the "var." name
Also note that "edible" species are for eating (as food) and Active species are for tripping, like Amanita Muscaria.
So you found an Active Amanita. just FYI for future

Also keep in mind...when he says active, it is a different kind of "active". This species of mushroom does not contain psilocybin. Which is the compound most commonly referred to in "Magic Mushrooms". It contains Muscimol, which is completely different, and will result in a different experience, in comparison to your "normal" magic mushroom trip. I always try to emphasize research before experimenting with new drugs, it will help you better understand whats happening, why, and most certainly result in a more pleasurable experience.
There are plenty of threads here on the shroomery you can look up to better educate yourself before par-taking. Also, this was my first mushroom as well that I ate for hallucinogenic effects..I enjoyed it, but from what I hear, many people disagree. Good Luck

They need to be dried before consumed or they will make you ill. I dry then make a tea from the dried mushroom. Edit make sure you make the tea on low heat.

Dehydrating under low heat, also exposing to UV light for prolonged periods of time with a large circulating oxygen content cause decarboxylation of the ibotenic acid resulting in higher muscimol yields (desired). Muscarine can cause adverse side effects (non-lethal, but described as uncomfortable by some)...nothing you can do to avoid muscarine however the amount varies in every fruit. So you may not even get a high dose.

I have been using my stove top on low to dry them it takes 3-4 hours is that good enough? I was also wondering if there is a temperature that will kill activity?

Stove top is fine. You want to have some heat. I normally dry mine in a food dehydrator which is optimal. I set temperature to 110-130 F. and it has a built in fan to circulate. I wouldnt reccomend going over 180 F. You dont want to char the cap, that will degrade them.

Some recommendations online call for 180F in oven for 2 hours; preparation recipes all say tea is the way to go and the sweet spot on water temp's 190F for 30 min steeping...2 hours in 180F oven looks to be good for crispy caps, don't get near 190F until tea time though since it apparently converts active compounds at that temp.
Youtube's got tons of material on the active fly agaric and preparation, there's even a BBC Doc on there that filmed an Oxford experiment following two trippers through campus, pretty funny sht

I have one I am about to munch raw I don't like the illness the first few hours but the results are much nicer. I may have just cooked the activity out of the others which sucks 12 mushrooms wasted. I am going out later today hopefully I find a bunch more and ill try again. If it fails that time I will just use them for breading the flavor is nice and eat any future finds raw.
