2nd flush problems
    #2235117 - 01/11/04 06:51 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

alright so my first flush was great and now on my 2nd flush its going terrible, I can't get the myc to grow without a contamination happening. When I see it happan I spray the area with the peroxide/water mix and it goes away but then it comes back again. I then even did a dunk with bleach 1/100 mixture and it was alrght for a little while then it happens again! What am I doing wrong??? Also when the myc starts growing the next day it starts to turn green then dark green.

Green mold begins life as a white fluffy growth that closely resembles myc to the untrained eye.

You are growing mold and it is turning green as it releases its spores... usually after a coupla days.

Also, peroxide is of no use against the greens. It is best to shitcan the cake (or casing) as soon as the mold is identified or you will lose all.

Trich (green mold) is quite common everywhere in the world. Your best defense is to keep your hands clean, do not overwater, and give your chamber lots of fresh air.

the mold seems to be entering yuor fruiting chamber from the outside air, so spraying and dipping won't help. You should try to keep your growing area cleaner. I had lots of cobweb mold before moving my terrariums so a cabinet that can be kept cleaner than the outside of my kitchen!

if you're sprayin the terrarium for humidity add some peroxide to your water you're sprayin that would help with cleanin it(The terrarium)

You may want to try Hippies Bleach tek thats hiding in the advanced forum. I've done it once and it worked quite well.

Don't sweat the bleach Tek. You have a bacteria. Throw that shit out. Clean everything better than good, and start over.

It's pretty much your only option.

dipping and spraying won't do shit if you put yer cake back into a dirty terrarium in a dirty room! Mold is entering your terraium from the dirty are around it. Maybe if while your cakes were dunking you CLEANED your terraium, BAKED your perlite, and bleached the crap out of yer growroom you might have a chance of saving what you have left. If I still had problems, I would consider putting them in a cabnet with HEPA running 24/7.
