Gymnopilus Luteus vs Gymnopilus Junonius
    #22350644 - 10/08/15 03:57 PM (8 years, 3 months ago)

Short hunt today, went to the gym holes.
I found both Gymnopilus Luteus, and Gymnopilus Junonius.  I have recently heard some discussion on how we tell the difference in these species, given their similarities and to the naked eye, it can sometimes be quite difficult.

Gymnopilus Luteus

Young Luteus

Gymnopilus Junonius
(Pins)--Notice the cluster in how they grow, with the fat stems, compared to that of Luteus, with the tall slim stems that tend to fruit by themselves.

TURTLE!

Which one provides a more enjoyable trip? Have you noticed a difference in the activity at all?
