Blue conical mushroom, ID please?

So, I've been learning about amanitas like mad, but I've had trouble identifying anything on the other side of the spectrum, leaving alive to keep me that way also.
However, I found these in an area with decayed ferns and pine, in a rain storm about 10 hours since it started, in the middle of the Michigan UP.
Any ideas? The bluing caught my eye. About the diameter of a silver dollar
What grows up here in the fall?

And what causes them to be this color? All the reference pics I can find of the mushroom you suggested are brown, and sites suggest they're European. These appear to have some brown gills and purple spore print.

there are more than 2000 different kinds of Cortinarius, so you could be looking at any number of those. I don't know what causes the purple coloration of the mushroom but it's not oxidation of any active chemicals, they are likely toxic. Spore print color will be rusty brown.

Thank you, sorry if there was a tinge of hostility there, but I'm trying to actually learn about mushroom identification, not just find a free high, as I recently moved further into the boonies. So I'm looking for as much information as I can get. I've was wandering in the rain in the woods for several hours and found a load of stuff, these were the most dissimilar. Gonna sit tonight and sift through what I found and maybe post a few more.
Again, thanks.
Also- idea what I'd find up here in the next few days from this heavy rain? It'll be in the mid 50s. Sorry to act so noobish. I need a decent reference book with good pics or something, info online feels scattered and inconsistent.

I took no offense, we're all good, my friend. Corts are sometimes just notoriously hard to differentiate between or I would have narrowed down to an exact species for you, so I just went with genus alone so as not to make assumptions.
I'd be looking for active Gymnopilus if I lived in your area. And, by way of edibles, I'd be looking for Hericeum and Pleurotus.

So, could I post a couple and have you give me an idea if I'm on the right track to IDing?

I'm deep in the woods now, sitting in an area with cellphone signal, having a nip of scotch and making some notes on samples I've picked up in high-concentration areas of odd things that have any active characteristics.
The edibles are a little more straightforward and I've been frying puffball these last two weeks . grilled puffball is rather goey, I've found.
Can I post a spread when I get back to decent connection, so you can see if any I thought looked right catch your eye, and give you more information on that particular one, or do I have to post pic after pic of individual fungus fruit? Should I make a new thread? I haven't been on a forums system since somethingawful was good.

Please take descriptive notes and post alongside your photos. Regarding Cortinarius species it is often valuable to slice them lengthwise in halves to expose the flesh color. Some of them you'll need younger specimens with clearly visible cortina to determine.
Odor may be crucial too, even if it sometimes is quite impossible to describe.

I got a ton of odd things but I had to run off for family stuff for a few days. So fresh samples now. Ni
Ok, so these just sprung up by the hundreds, literally. Some things interspersed I'll post soon, but On beech stump/following the root structure below ground. Rain just over a day ago. 50-55 degrees F. Doubt this is anything truly interesting but the household is now curious as they spread to our tree line. I have an incompetent sense of smell as I have a sinus issue tainting it. Don't smoke even if it makes you look soooo cool.
