I'm really interested  in the g2g jar. Since I shook it there should be portions where the corn touched the oats and it should grow right ? Or does the myc actually just grow from the corn and attach to the oats ?

The mycelium will colonize right through the center of the oats, then move to the next grain and do the same thing. That is why when you go to dunk your grains, the mycelium doesn't just wash away.

So it's just gonna grow through the corn and just consume everything along the way?

So theoretically,  since popcorn has such a large surface area and people say that's bad because it kind of fools you during spawn.

But isn't that good for g2g transfer to smaller grains ?

Popcorn does have a larger surface area and that's why it takes longer for the mycelium to fully colonize it. It's good that you transferred it to smaller grains, now colonization will be a bit quicker.

It's hard to tell when it's at 30%. I'll probably post and ask with a pic.

Updated op with new g2g jar pic, it's looking beautiful. Agar stuff is in might mess with that during the weekend while it fruits.

I think it looks pretty good. Definitely moving along. what bulk sub did you use? I've never used a casing layer with my cubes. I hear it is essential for some species but not so for cubes it's more or less an option that I opt out of.

50/50 cvg.  A lot of the corn was left exposed since its such a big grain, I thought the casing would help it not to try out and stuff.

And I also wouldn't mind have a nice first pin set and everything.

G2g is growing so fast maybe because of the difference in size of grain like stated before. These were soaked with gypsum though and followed oats tek and made sure center of grain was softened correctly.

Hmmm..you should wait on that. There are still lots of exposed grains. If you spawn too soon, those uncolonized grains will become a contam magnet. I'd say give it at least two more days to finish up.
