First Timer did lots of reading Grow Log ( successful APE after successful B+, next TBD) 2

A lot has changed and my sub expired so had to delete / reupload pictures.
I successfully did my first grow and experimented with a coke bottle with amazing results and had an amazing time.
Here are some of my results

I am now on to APES
3/15

3/17 Blobs are growing but I found a couple of what I though were pins
This one near the right

3/19

Starting to see lots of caps and sideways pins coming up
3/21

I would say good successful first ape attempt and second grow.
3/22 So much blue

Why would you want to go from grain to brf in the first place??
I don't see why you couldn't make a grain liquid culture from one of the jars and suck it up in a syringe and knock up brf cakes with that, but it kinda seems like that's going backwards ya know?

Oh sorry , it's just that I had left over brf and would be cool to see the cake grow too. Don't know what else to do with brf.

Nothing wrong with doing it as long as you know the jar is clean your making the GLC from.

Gotcha , it's colonizing nicely and quick too. I'll update with more pics as it progresses.

Is that polyfill as your filter? I've never seen grey polyfill.. When I first saw it, I thought it was steel wool

Those are some small jars, half pints?
Next time try quarts or pints, most of us use bigger jars with grain spawn because thete is only so mucb you can do with tiny amounts

Maybe try Grain Liquid Culture (GLC.) Guides can be found easily.
It would be better described as Grain Liquid Inoculant, but basicaly you just shoot some sterile water into a spawn jar, and suck up some mycellium water. A liquid form inoculant will have a better chance effectively inoculating a cake.
--------------------
I spawned some popcorn casings and had double-overlay cause I didn't put enough hydrogen peroxide in my automated aquarium mister. I only got one mushroom so I cut off the head part where the seeds fall from and put it in a jar of LC and sprayed it all over a tin of PF cakes I made with gravel, cardboard, and bisquick in my microwave. I think it will be good cause B+ is so potent. Triggered yet? Only a square would say "a cube is a cube."
No, this does not look right...

It was left over half pints I had from brf . Normal ones too.. also wanted to test out my sanitizing ritual before moving big. Once and if these are a great success I'll move on to bigger. I believe in baby steps.
Now I will look into how to fruit these. I believe most mix these with a 50/50 mix. I chose coir and verm . So I believe mix spawn withe substrate cover with few holes until conolized uncover and fruit in a chamber ?

Yea you could do a small tray spawned to coir/verm would good!
Yea just let it colonize and put into fruiting conditions

This is very high risk. Grain liquid cultures are not recommended anymore.
If you want a mycelium syringe clean up your culture on agar and sterilize a syringe of w ater. Squirt the myc onto the plate and agitate the myc up w the needle, suck the water back up.

I'm not a fan of the idea either. I'm assuming he's not using agar. I think he'd have a better chance of success than trying to pour grains ontop of a PF cake.

Thanks for the advice , I really like how white and fluffy the myc is getting. Looks like feathers

Oh wow yea I didn't realize that was what he was trying to do haha I mean yea in theory that would work but yea not best way to go by far.
Much better to do a liquid i nnoculate or put a grain jar GE lid on and put a wedge of agar ontop the brf

Gotcha understood.
Sooo.. I think I sterilized a piece of hair and it's being colonized. This will be my lucky hair. This will go in other jars for luck.

update 10/10
Jars looked to be 25%-30% covered in nice white fluffy strong myc. Went ahead and gave them their first shake. Looks like it all dissapeared, I read that is normal and they will heal up in a day or two. Just looks like if I started from square one. Hopefully I get to see the nice white fluffy myc again.
