Rare Awesome Plant ID Help! 1

So I planted a ton of seeds that I got from a friend of mine and this little guy popped up about 3 months ago. I have absolutely NO idea what the Dickens he is but if you look on the end of each "leaf" in between the grooves there are baby plants sprouting off. During this hellacious rainstorm we just had in SC a bunch fell off and rooted themselves in his pot and on my table lol. Does anyone know what he is or can you help identify him? Thanks in advance my friends.

Kalanchoe sp. aka Alligator plant. These grow like weeds in FL. Sometimes known as 'mother of thousand'

Also that's likely that this didin't sprouted from seeds you sown , but happened to be in the pot by accident. This Kalanchoe is infesting, but never troublesome, also if you let it grow, it will eventually flower in nice pink tubular bells.
If plantlets stay a lot on the leaves they will also sprout their own plantlets

I have been thinking of starting some. They are a nice hardy houseplant-succulent. I notice with friends who have them, that they often become a conversation piece and always provide (baby-clone-gifts) for friends.

I don't understand where it came from. It doesn't grow around here, he doesn't offer these seeds, and it couldn't have been in the bag of soil I had. And I did see cotyledons on it when it sprouted so I truly have no idea where he came from.

That stuff's surprisingly drought tolerant, and hardy all around. Grows like a weed.
A guy at the nursery pulled me some up outta the ground to take home, now I find it all over my yard and it ends up in all my pots.
Not complaining, pretty neat actually. I love it.

He may have had a rogue seed in his supply, I get random seeds from suppliers quite frequently.

These are fun plants, there are several species and varieties that are pretty cool. I have one with tubular leaves that only grow the plant-lets on the tips. There is also a variety known as "pink butterflies" that grows pink plant-lets. I want one of these someday, but they sell for insane amounts of money considering the number of plant-lets a single plant produces.
Here are some flowers from one blooming at a local nursery.

Kalachoe pink butterflyesas you say, is both beautiful and expensive, but there's a reason. The pink butterflies, aka the plantlets, are pink because completely variegated, hence they don't survive if detached from the mother leaf . That is why this plant is propagated only by cuttings and it's kinda expensive.

Kalanchoe daigremontiana. I was given one once but the little plantlets root in all your other containers. I (eventually) managed to get rid of it.

Ha! Well then I am happy I never purchased any then. Many that I have seen offered were for x amount of plant-lets. I didn't realize the plant-lets were essentially albino and won't grow on their own. I'll cross that off my wish list. I usually cull mine once a year or so tossing the larger, often leggy plants, and starting new from plant-let.

yeah, i see that a lot of people sell directly the plantlets on ebay. the fact is that after you , recieve beautiful pink plantlets, you leave positive feedback, until you see them not growing and dyng.

Maybe I am just lucky or have sheer numbers on my side, but I have successfully propagated pink butterflies from the leaf plantlets. I do usually take tip cuttings but often throw leaves and plantlets into leaf prop trays and end up with little babies quite often.

Hey djmattz0r,
I feel like you are my future self, who having collected all the plants on my current wishlist, has returned to the past to collect items off of our future wishlist because they are more available now than they are in the future, or something like that. Seriously though I keep coming across my wishlist plants in your pics and comments, both here and in other forums. From what I have seen you seem to have an excellent collection. Nice work!
