If by edible you mean in the conventional sense -- i.e. invite your parents and have them with your Sunday dinner, then no.

A. Muscaria both european and american variances contain Muscimol, Muscarine, and Ibotenic Acid. Muscimol is a haleucinogenic compound that acts as a deleriant when ingested. Muscarine can cause mild to severe side effects depending on the amount that is in the mushroom, unfortunantly there is no easy way to determine that without consuming it. Muscarine can cause excess salivation, nausea, and confusion...but normally dissipates after about an hour. Ibotenic acid will convert into the active compound Muscimol through decarboxylation by drying them under low heat, or exposing to UV rays or boiling.
Some people do eat these mushrooms for flavor, but only after removing the psychoactive ingrdiants. From what I have heard, they will boil the mushrooms, discard the water and then cook the mushrooms how they want. If you are looking for an experience with these, please do your research and be responsible. It is different than psilocybin (from personal experience). I like to dry mine "cracker dry" and then eat them like potato chips. I do believe dosage advise is not allowed on these forums...but feel free to slip on over to Erowid.com and read some report that users have posted (along with dosage amounts) Good Luck
